The West and East were Waging War...

The forces of the Empire were slowly but surely making their way through the world, taking nations and bending them to their will. The advent of Magitek and the Knights that were able to wield it as though it were the magic of the past eras. To say it was a bloodbath was an understatement. Many countries had already fallen, with just Doma, Narshe, and Figaro being the holdouts, and it was probably only time until they fell as well.

It was time for action, it was time for Edgar to do something for his people. It didn't really matter that that something was changing his clothes slightly, dying his hair and calling himself 'Gerad' to infiltrate the city of Tzen, a recent addition to Gestahl's sphere of influence. He had been there a few days, and managed to use his charm and wits to convince everyone that he was a traveling Machinist from Narshe, looking to get a contract with the Empire for his new devices. Much to his own surprise, this allowed him to meet up with General Chere, easily the most beautiful of the Imperial Generals.

Thankfully, as far as he can tell, she doesn't seem to realize who he is. He was sure of that when he was able to convince her to meet him in the woods for an evening picnic. After all, what soldier would go off with the King of a foreign land alone at night?

He had brought a nice spread, even if it wasn't too overwhelming. He had brought a picnic basket full of the local cuisine, a bottle of a nice vintage of wine, a couple of glasses, and a comfy looking blanket, which was all set out.

"I hope General Chere enjoys this when she arrives," he said, absently. "I do love this little town."
