The Intimacy Meme

The Intimacy Meme

(Shamelessly taken from... all the rest and modified!)

Intimacy is the glue of any relationship, albeit romantic or friendship. It's getting to the root of humanity, and expanding upon ourselves and letting others in.

Rules:
1. Post with your character.
2. Go to
rng and roll from 1-6.
3. Post to others.
4. Profit

Scenes:
1. First Kiss. Maybe you've been harboring feelings or maybe this is random. But it feels good to be that close to someone.

2. Love Confession. You have been head over heels for this person and now it's time to try and get close to them.

3. Secrets. You've been hiding yourself from someone and now it's time to stop. They need to know the real you.

4. First Time. First time you have sex is always nerve racking, but it's in these moments that you show how much you truly care about someone.

5. Shower. Perhaps you've been together for awhile. Maybe you've told each other everything. Maybe you're just dirty and need to get cleaned up. But letting the water flow between two people is still pretty intimate.

6. Post-Coital Bed. Do you feel talkative after sex? Want to ponder the meaning of life / if you guys are more than a one-night stand? Better to do it after the deed probably.. at least your partner will be in a good mood?

7. Road Trip. Good for that bonding experiance you never had! Bad diner food and weird landmarks you never knew you wanted to see! Will it bring you closer to your friend / lover?

8. Drunk. Are you the happy or sad kind? Clingy, or flighty? Maybe you just need a hug, to snuggle close.. to whoever's around at the time!

9. Winter. What could be a better time to curl up with a book, or exchange soft words in the glow of the fire? Hot chocolate time!

10. Free verse.
Did I leave something out? Want to combine? Make up your own or pick from the others.

[More often than not, Emma is not the type to linger after having sex. She'll find her clothes and throw them on while offering one excuse or another (usually something about having an early day), or make her escape in the middle of the night when it's too late to be noticed. In her mind it's always a perfectly acceptable exit, always to keep things from getting uncomfortable later on; to save both of them the trouble of having to engage in conversation, or cuddling - or worse, waking up together.

She's not sure if it's the season getting to her or the man laying beside her, but this time Emma doesn't feel like making her exit after she finally catches her breath. Part of her wonders what he'll say if she doesn't head for the door soon, because that same part of her is hoping he might like the company. Maybe she's pushing her luck, but she crawls under the covers instead of staying on top of them, stretching out between the sheets and accidentally brushing her bare leg over his.

Cuddling and talking still aren't on Emma's list of favorites, so she stays on to her side, and she stays silent, resting her head on a pillow that has her breathing in the scent of him as soon as she makes contact with it.

In short, she's in a weird mood tonight.]

[August had been expecting Emma to make a run for it. He'd seen her do it before (though the extent of his past stalking experience would be best to keep to himself), and he knows her type. He was her type, the ones too scared of being a disappointment or being disappointed to stick around for very long, the ones always moving, the emotional and physical drifters. The difference between them, though, was that while she was drifting aimlessly, he was always tethered--to her.

Now, laying back against the mattress and trying to catch his breath, he hopes desperately that she'll stay but expects none of it. Now that he has her, he can't stand the idea of letting her wander off again--but she doesn't, and when he glances over at her to watch her shift under the covers, he can't help but smile.

So this is what normality feels like. It's warm, encompassing, comfortable. It feels right.

He looks right back at the ceiling then, careful not to spook her by staring all too much, releasing a deep breath and relaxing. It isn't for another beat that he turns his head to properly meet her eyes.]

That was incredible.

I've had worse.

[Her smile might say more than anything that reaches his ears, because she doesn't know how to give August the appropriate amount of credit in anything she tells him. She has had worse, that's true, but Emma doesn't remember having better. The last time she gave a damn about a guy she was seventeen years old and thoroughly inexperienced. It's different now, in a small bed instead of a small car, with someone who came to find her rather than leaving her behind.

At least she tells herself it is.

The idea of August riding out of town has crossed her mind plenty of times. It's what makes her want to do the leaving before he has a chance to; so it can be her choice this time instead of his. Emma is keenly aware that he's a free spirit, and she's not trying to hold him down as much as she'd like to hold him close. This feels good, being with him, and while she'll argue that it's just to get away from being further scarred by Mary Margaret and David, her reasons for sticking around tonight have nothing to do with them.

She wants August. She wants him like this, and she wants him to stay. She wants him in Henry's life and in hers. But that's another thing Emma doesn't tell him, even as her eyes hold steady on him. She tucks her arm under a pillow and sighs, tired with a mind that's set on racing instead of sleeping. Every muscle in her body is exhausted, and she can all but feel the ache in her bones after that.

It pales in comparison to that flutter in her chest, the long-forgotten excitement of unwinding with someone she cares about. So she can't help it, she can't stop herself, she doesn't even try this time -]

Have you decided how long you're staying in town for?

[She may be afraid of the answer, but she has to know. If she doesn't start bracing herself now, it'll be too late.]
