[So, this is Hoshido. Niles never once thought he'd see anywhere beyond the filthy streets of Nohr's underbelly, much less outside the kingdom or any territories surrounding it. But this is the precious peaceful, fertile, well-to-do kingdom where everything's pretty and nothing hurts, huh.
He's heard the royal family keeps a special "treasure" within the castle, no one knows for sure what it is but it's valuable and pretty and no one is allowed to come near it. Supposedly. It's all a bunch of rumors, even Lord Leo doesn't know the whole story, but the king's been looking for a way to get back at Hoshido for having more anyway.
Lord Leo and his siblings are not keen on the idea of a war, so Niles is off on a self-appointed mission to snatch this treasure. They can sell whatever it is, Nohr won't have to start a war, and Hoshido will suffer for the loss. It'd serve them right.
Niles manages to find his way into Shisaragi Castle without tripping up any of the ninjas or other traps. When you've been sneaking around as long as he's been, you learn to dodge anything. The "treasure room" is in the west wing of the castle, apparently.]
