... and then it hits you: none of this is real. You're dreaming. You've been dreaming all along.

Maybe you'd normally wake up now. The brain is a funny thing, though, and you can't seem to. Must be something you ate. You do, however, realize that you're in a dream - and in dream, you can do anything. Always wanted to dream about flying? It's your lucky night. Want to dream back a lost childhood home? It's there just as you remember, or perhaps imagine it. Been fantasizing about that one cute co-worker for weeks? Well then.

There's only one problem. There seems to be someone else in your dreamscape, and they can apparently control it just as easily as you can. They even have the audacity to claim that they are dreaming you!


All the usual:

• Post with your character's name and canon in the subject line.
• Said character is having a lucid dream, where since they know they are dreaming, they can do literally anything. Fun!
• ... except that the character that comments on your thread is also in the same dream and just as lucid. Both characters can affect the world around them, but not each other.
• Both characters are the "original" dreamer from their perspective, and neither is stronger than the other. Conflicting changes to the environment simply overwrite each other in a loop until one character or the other gives up.
• The setup of this meme is built to facilitate cross-canon interaction: it's probably a good idea to state in your subject line whether you're open to it.
• Tag around and play nice!

Huh?

[Oh, it's just a bouncing pink pony with an honor guard of balloon. That's practically Gonzo's everyday life.]

Aw, you know... [he makes a vague expansive gesture with one flaily Muppet arm.] I can't seem to wake up. I hope whatever fell on me wasn't too heavy.

[sailorlaughter]

Oh! Huh.

[Pinkie looks all around, up and down at the white. Too bad she wasn't there to warn him; Pinkie Sense means that she has very little experience with things falling on her.]

Hmmmmm...ooooh! I know! [And suddenly the landscape explodes with colorful party noisemakers.]

[musicmaestro]

[Ooh, colorful noisy exploding things. That's a good place to start with Gonzo. For a moment his eyes light up and the noisemakers all get picked up by colorful chickens and start making, well, noise. But after a moment he sighs and shakes his head, and they all vanish again.]

Nah, there isn't any point.

[sailorlaughter]

[Pinkie laughs in delight as the chickens appear, and starts to prance around one - only for it to unexpectedly vanish. Aw.]

Sure there's a point! The point is FUN! I mean, we can do anything we WANT here! [As if to emphasize her point, they're suddenly both wearing umbrella hats as brightly-wrapped candy begins to rain from the sky. A small dragon-winged alligator drops down as well, landing with a plop on Pinkie's umbrella and gurgling at Gonzo.]

Yeah, that's exactly it.

[Gonzo's umbrella hat upends itself then wilts like a sad flower, drooping to cover his eyes. The candy scattered around him grow legs and especially in order to be able to sit around and sigh along.]

What's the point of doing something daring and dangerous when there isn't any danger?

[sailorlaughter]

[Pinkie's umbrella disappears as the rest of the candy turns into big soap bubbles and floats away. The alligator dragon lands on her mane and promptly burrows into it until only two big purple eyes are visible.]

You mean you WANT there to be danger?

Danger's what makes it good!

[Case in point: Pinky, that dragon in your hair is starting to grow pretty quickly. And its claws and teeth are growing even quicker than that. And now its eyes are an ominous red. And eek.]
