WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO HAVE A CURSE.
![]() MONSTER HUNTER MEME No, not the video game. Okay, maybe if you squint? I guess? Anyway, this is for all the hunters out there. Ghosts, werewolves, vampires, behemoths, whatever it is you hunt, you can do it here. Pair up with someone to hunt with or find the creature you're after. Maybe even save some people along the way. What's that? You want pay? Take it up with the customer, buddy. Have fun, get messy, don't get eaten or possessed or whatever. Unless you're a monster CHASER, in which case that's a different meme category altogether. |

Getting snowed into the Bunker is a new one, even by Winchester standards.
But to be fair, the rogue winter faerie they've been trying to track down is a lot smarter and quick at thinking on his feet than Dean wanted to give him credit for; the douche sent them a blizzard, pure Elsa style, before vanishing into the night, probably to go snack on some more souls, particularly of the children variety.
So now they're trying to work their way out of the Bunker. But apparently Mr. Let It Go didn't just hit them with regular snow; oh no, that would be too damn easy. Because it's not enough that they have the Apocalypse World, Mom and Jack being stuck there, and the threat of that version of Michael potentially coming to this world to worry about, oh no; now they have magical snow that seems to have sealed every possible exit out of the Bunker shut.
"Son of a bitch!"
Dean throws the book against the door, the spell he'd been attempting having fizzled out like cheap champagne bubbles. Except that it kind of backfired, and now his entire body sparkles, just like Edward Cullen. He glances down at his sparkly hand and lets out a long sigh. Damn it, he needs a drink.
"Please tell me you're having better luck than I am," Dean says, turning to Rowena. He's hoping her brand of magic can get them out of this sticky situation.

To Dean’s credit, it’s not like she’s been successful, either. When the most powerful witch on the continent can’t crack it immediately, it’s unlikely that anyone else can, except by sheer blind luck or brute force. Then again, if the Winchesters are branded by any simple concepts, blind luck and brute force are pretty good contenders.
Rowena herself is huddled over three or four bowls (basins, she’d say, they’re basins) full of all sorts of hoodoo and whatever scraps she could find in a hurry. She doesn’t have her typical stash, as she didn’t expect to be snowed in when making a simple house call, but it doesn’t befit her to be unprepared. What she doesn’t have is time.
Dean making a ruckus certainly isn’t helping, either. She wishes she was stuck with Samuel, instead. He’s quieter. Usually. Or, if not quieter, he’s typically more understanding of the very hard nature of spellwork, as well as this spellworker’s particular moods. He got off easy this time, in short.
“It’s not luck, either. Perhaps for you. You’re looking exceptionally radiant today, if I may comment.” She can’t resist being rude, though.

It seemed that Marie had made one too many enemies. Even if one was just one too many. People had accused the water creature of attacking villagers when she was certain that she had not done so and now, someone was after her.
She had to figure out a way to survive while driving out her hunter from the swamp she was living in.
Easier said than done. She knew she was coming...

It had been early in the morning when villagers had come to the Belmont home seeking aid. A frantic mother spoke of some thing in the swamps near their village attempting to snatch away her child while a few others had had encounters with the creature. None of them had been injured really but they were fearful it was only a matter of time.
This was one of the days when it was only she and Annette at home so she had elected to go check out what the issue could be. A merman perhaps? She would have expected more fearsome reports if that were the case.
Here she was though, hopping from tree branch to tree branch with a touch of the dragon Seiryu's assistance on longer gaps. She cast her gaze to the ground through the branches, attempting to pick out some movement beyond the movement of animals.

She looked up at the tree above her, spotting the blonde there before her. A girl? She was after her. She had to be. She wasn’t going to let her win, though.
“I give you one warning: turn back now!” She said, throwing her voice the best she could.”

Grasping the trunk of the tree itself for stability, Maria called back without the same attempt at throwing her voice. If the creature knew directly where she was and attacked, so much the better, she thought. It would draw it out and make Maria's hunt all the easier for it.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. You've frightened quite a few villagers, you know."
no subject
“If you don’t back off, I’ll humiliate you!” She called back, throwing her voice again. “I hate to send you running to those villagers wet and naked!”
Maybe she could fluster her... even as she started to make her way up the tree.
no subject
"And what would that accomplish for you, other than to draw more attention from the villagers?" Maria didn't even delve into the fact that doing so would certain earn the ire of Richter if not others. She wasn't friendless after all.
Inside of her Byakko moves restlessly. There's something coming? Good, let it come. She would rather face the creature than listen to it's petty threats.
no subject
“Then they should have stayed away! I’ll stop anyone trying to get to me! Trying to take me from my home!”
Maria was distracted! Reaching her perch, she went to lunge at her!
no subject
The creature lunges and Maria leaps for the next nearest sturdy looking branch. At worst she'll fall into the swamp muck below and at best she can finish her check and summon up a gust of flames from her hands.
In the end it's sort of a bit of both. She does manage to hit the branch and cast her spell, flames erupting from her hands and setting the tree she had just been on ablaze. Unfortunately this meant she couldn't have a hand free to steady herself on the branch and with a crack it gave way.
"Woah!"
And so plop, there went the woman into the muck and mire of the swamp below. She doesn't stay down for long of course, gaining her feet again with a loud sigh. Everything below her waist and a good bit above it are drenched and dripping with the waters and muck and she's just...
"This can never be simple, can it."
no subject
“You should have left. Now, I have no choice!” She called out, watery tendrils raising up to lash at Maria.
