ROLE SWAP MEME It's time to shake things up, everyone! Have you ever wondered how the other half lives? Well, now it's time to find out! We're gonna go really simple with it this time. Maybe you were a hero, now you're a villain. Maybe you were the older sibling and now you're the younger one. Maybe you were an ice cream man and now you're a super hero (who is also an ice cream man). Maybe you were a cop and now you're us instead. Essentially you're playing your character in a different kind of role than they would usually be in. If their personality hasn't changed how do they fit in their new role? If their personality HAS changed, how so? It's a fun thing to explore. • Top level your character. If you'd like, put any preferences for what kind of role swap you'd like to play out, what your character's usual role is, so on and so forth. • Reply to other characters! Canon, cross-canon, whatever. You can be a hero in one world and a villain in another without even changing your ideals. • Have fun!

[One of my fave roleswap ideas is Temple swapped with the Director and Church. Basically, Temple’s love interest dies, Temple becomes the Director, Temple makes an AI copy of himself, the AI accidentally creates an AI of his love interest, and that inspires Temple to fragment the AI by torturing it.]

[And then, after his Freelancer breaks down, Temple hides the original AI in Blood Gulch.]

[I also have Alpha (deathcountspushingthree) and Epsilon (agoodmemory), and I can play them for this AU, if you would prefer Church (as a sim trooper from Desert Gulch seeking revenge against Freelancer after his friend or love interest was killed) instead of Temple (as what I listed above).]

[ooc: that's not even very difficult to do. Let's say Odin found out about Loki involvement in Frost Giants in the Vault thing and then Odin banished Loki to Earth for a time. Loki is in very bad and uncertain place mentally, because he hasn't even managed to learn what's up, that is, Odin banished him before Loki could ask what's up with the Frost giant thing and 'am I actually a Frost Giant somehow or just cursed or smth?' Unable now to confirm or deny, for a time, whether his whole life till now has been a lie or not, cut off for a time from Asgard, Loki might as well take up some superheroics while on Midgard just to have smth to do. After all, at worst, he can later just tell himself that's just another lie he's lived. Or smth. Besides, he might be thinking to prove he's not worse at such stuff than Thor would surely be if Thor was banished. /ooc]

Up until the map to Luke Skywalker’s place of exile had been found, everyone had believed that Jane Solo, the General’s youngest child, was dead. Killed during the First Order’s attack on Skywalker’s Jedi temple several years ago, along with her older brother, Ben, and the rest of the apprentices. A funeral had been held on Hosnian Prime, though the siblings’ bodies had been so badly charred, they’d been unrecognizable.

The Resistance leaders were staring up the completed map projected by R2-D2 and BB-8 when the General turned to Poe Dameron and said, very simply, “I need you to go there and bring Jane back.”

As she did every morning, Jane stood on one of Ahch-to’s cliffs and stared out to the sea, looking as though she was waiting for the sun to rise, arms at her sides and legs planted firmly apart. She was older now, yet every morning she still found herself going back to that night, reliving the horror of the temple burning and Ben slaughtering their friends before finally turning on her.

”Come with me,” her brother had pleaded, a hand outstretched in invitation — but his eyes had been wild, desperate.

Those eyes had terrified her beyond belief that she’d taken a step back, shaking her head in refusal. And when he advanced, to take her by force, her knee-jerk reaction had been to ignite her lightsaber, green blade bright against the hellish flames.
