The AU and Crossover Grab Bag Meme

This is the meme for muns who love all kinds of AUs and crossovers.

[How To]

1. Post as your character. (Please write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line, and also if they're canon, AU, crossover or OC, etc. Please also write down preferences, etc in the comment box)

2. Choose a scenario, or any combinations of any scenarios you want to try out. Making up your own scenario is fine, too! Either mun can make the suggestions for a scenario.

3. Thread, tag and have fun!

[Sample Scenarios]

1. [AU] The Role Switch AU - Main Character, Side Character - The main characters are now supporting characters, and the supporting characters are now main characters.

2. [AU] The Role Switch AU - Main Character Group Role-Switching - If your character's canon has a main character duo, or a main character group, swapping roles around inside the group is alright, too. (Example(1) The Fighter is now in charge of strategy, while the Strategist is is in charge of the fighting... 8. [AU or Crossover] Now We Are AU Versions Of Each Other. One or both characters who are threading have been turned into AU versions of each other. Example - Tsukino Usagi has tagged Bruce Wayne, and they are now Bat Lady and Tuxedo Bat.

9. [AU] Alternate Timeline. Things have changed in the character's world's timeline, and there are many differences, big and small. Example - Bruce Wayne's parents didn't end up dead when he was a child.

[He remained on the stairs as Stiles went to eat, taking the chance to glance around and take in the castle as he tried to recall what he could from the story. The west wing was where the flower was. They probably needed to go see if that was the same since he was hardly as beast-like as the actual beast had been.]

Do you think that would work?

Worth a try, right?

[If only because pretending to fall in love with Derek would be awkward, but still not nearly as awkward as trying to do it for real, because how did you even try and fall in love with somebody anyway?]

[Derek shrugged. He supposed it was worth a try even if he wasn't sure it would work. He wasn't sure anything would work. They'd been shoved into a Disney movie.

A Disney movie...] ... You're not going to burst into song at me, are you?

[Dealing with a traumatic situation required humour, copious amounts of it, that was really the only explanation for the way he grinned at Derek in response to that question. Well, that or because he had some sort of death wish that made him prone to tease an already annoyed alpha]

Maybe, if the mood takes me. You know I think I feel a song coming on already...

[The statement was met with staring from Derek then he slowly rose from his sitting position on the stairs.]

First word that comes out of your mouth to a tune is getting you thrown down the stairs. [The warning was accompanied by a look before he turned and continued up the stairs, whether Stiles was following or not.]

[Sourwolf was not going to put him off, nosiree, because he was Stiles Stilinski and he had that aforementioned deathwish going on, so he followed Derek up the stairs]

You're never going to get me to fall in love with you with an attitude like that.

[Derek glanced over his shoulder as Stiles followed him, raising his eyebrows.]

You're not going to fall in love with me at all.

Well. Obviously.

[For a second it seemed like he was being normal and actually just going to agree with Derek and move on. Nope]

Not with an attitude like that anyway, have a little optimism! You would be totally lucky to have me fall in love with you, I'm awesome.

[Derek stared at Stiles then continued on up the stairs, talking over his shoulder.]

I'm thinking about bringing you to the tower and locking you up there.

harsh, dude, really harsh. And also totally not allowed if we're trying to play along, you have to..uh...invite me to dinner and give me a library.

[There may have been something about being locked in her room, but he couldn't remember all the details and he was betting on Derek not knowing them either]

Wasn't there something about saving her from wolves in there, too?

[The thought of that was strange, though it seemed fitting for the two of them.]

[Stiles was actually kind of surprised that he knew that much, and now that he thought about it, Derek actually knew a lot more than he expected]

Are you a closet disney fan or something?

I was a kid once.

[That was all the explanation he offered. He'd seen Disney movies as a child just like most people his age had.]

[Stiles couldn't help but stop and stare for a moment, feeling guilty and amazed and strange all at once, because he couldn't imagine what Derek was like as a child. Was he this grumpy back then or was this... well... since the fire? It wasn't the sort of question you could ask. He was born a werewolf too, Stiles' brain decided to move onto what that would've been like, was he just a fuzzy baby around full moon? That was an oddly adorable mental picture that did not at all match the Derek he knew today. He realised he'd zoned out for too long and ran to catch up with the older man]

Does that mean I have to deliberately go and get attacked by wolves just so you can save me? Because that does not sound like fun.

[He wasn't always as grumpy as he was. Derek didn't feel the need to explain himself, though. He wasn't going to jump into any sort of family history with anyone, not even Stiles, who he was supposed to be pretending to fall in love with.]

No. Let's avoid the wolves. Maybe we should start after that.

Well I think after that there might have been a montage so I don't really know what happens... we could start singing and hope for the best ok not really don't kill me

[He doesn't even know if Derek's glaring at him yet, but he expects it before the sentence is even out of his mouth, so immediate backtracking it is]

I do think you're going to have to start being nice to me if we want to pull this off.

[He didn't shoot Stiles a glare or turn to tell him anything for the singing comment. He looked back after a moment.]

Fine. I want to get out of here as soon as possible.

[He was actually pleasantly surprised that he wasn't being glared at, and there's a tiny part of him that thinks maybe they can pull this off, until he remembers that pretending to be in love with someone is a lot more than just not glaring at them, only now that he thinks about it he isn't even sure how they're supposed to pretend something like that. He can't exactly imagine playful snowball fights and longing stares into each other's eyes. This was going to be trickier than he thought]

Well we probably don't have that long, there wasn't a lot of time before the petals all fell off in the story, I don't think

[The thought of the flower hadn't hit Derek until Stiles mentioned it. Then he glanced up the stairs and turned to head toward the west wing.]

Do you think that's how much time we have to get ourselves out of here since I'm not cursed?

I really don't know man, I'm running on my best guess here, maybe? Seems about right, fairytale logic sort of thing.

[Derek nodded at his answer. It wasn't like either of them knew what to do or what rules there were where they'd ended up.]

We're going to find the flower.

No arguments here, it's our best bet.

[Yes, he was actually going to do something Derek told him to. For now]

We can hope, anyway.

[He continued up the stairs until he hit a landing where things seemed darker. Then he followed the hall until there was just a large door in front of them which he pushed open without hesitation.]

[Stiles followed him up to the door, trying and failing to see over his shoulder into the room beyond, so instead he just attempted to duck round him to get a look at the thing]

[Derek allowed him to get around as he stepped into the room and glanced things over. The rose was there, floating under the glass cover on the lone standing table in the room.

Everything else was broken or torn apart, including a fairly large painting of what looked like... Derek. He approached it and lifted part of the slashed canvas and simply blinked at the fact that it was a portrait of him smiling. Then he let it go and moved back toward the table and the rose.]

We should assume this is our timer. [He nodded down at the rose and the small pool of petals under it.]
