[ Regardless of the high chance of being disowned by Even, Ienzo finds himself keeping his promise about going along with the idea to take Larxene out on a few dates in exchange for her helping him a bit with his research. It's a harmless arrangement as far as Ienzo's concerned, and maybe, just maybe, knowing Even would disapprove is part of why he's going along with it.

He has to have a rebellious teenager phase at some point, and better late than never.

Which is why he finds himself curiously waiting by the outskirts of the city, wondering why Larxene asked him to meet her all the way out there instead of somewhere else in town. ]

[Larxene was curious. Knowing Ienzo had even that slight bit of interest that she harbored was enough to tip the scales for her. She wanted to see how this played out. If she was going to have to accept having a heart again she'd at least go in on her own terms. Which meant exploring curiosities like her slight attraction to Ienzo.

She hadn't talked to him much since then, but she did have him agree to meet her on the outskirts of town and made sure he wasn't afraid to go through one of the dark portals now. She might have asked it rudely, but it was just her typical teasing with it being pretty clear she was making sure whatever she had planned would work.

Once Ienzo had texted her that he was there a dark pathway would open nearby and out would step Larxene. She was still in her Organization cloak of course given it provided the protection from the dark that she needed.]

Huh you actually showed up. Here I was thinking you might get cold feet.

[She tilts her head in confusion.]

You're going wearing that? I know you're into your work, but I thought you said you brought protective clothing.

[Larxene shrugs it off.]

Even though you're the one whose supposed to take me on a date just this once I was nice enough to set us up somewhere nice. It'd take forever to get there normally though so we're going this way.

[She gestured to the path.]

But, you're not allowed to peek!

[Larxene points at him accusingly before pulling out a black blindfold.]

Don't worry I'll hold your hand so you don't get lost in there.

[She holds out the blindfold expecting him to put it on.]

Of course I showed, why wouldn't I?

[ It's said with that same smile that says he knows damned well there is a list of reasons why he shouldn't be there, but he could care less regardless. ]

I didn't think it would be wise to walk through town in it, that's all.

[ His little smile stays in place as he reaches out for the blindfold, but the moment his hand touches the black cloth there's a spark that starts at his fingertips and quickly spreads to the rest of his body. In its wake, it looks more like Zexion standing before her once again, full organization cloak and boots replacing his usual lab uniform. So what if he's a bit of a show-off? It's fun when people think he's lost all of his powers, only to be proven wrong. ]

Is this really necessary?

[ The way he eyes the fabric now in his hand is akin to one debating their life choices that lead up to this. Sure, let Larxene blindfold him and lead him into a portal of darkness in the middle of the night with no one knowing where he is or who he's with.

What could possibly go wrong?

He sighs and brushes aside his bangs to properly secure the blindfold, regardless of his complaints. ]

[Her response is to just roll her eyes and smile at him. That expression however quickly gave way to shock as the illusion around Ienzo suddenly fades. For a couple seconds he would see Larxene with a genuinely surprised expression. She smoothed it out and cleared her throat.]

Huh so you still have some of your old abilities.

[Needless to say she wasn't expecting that.]

Hey you're the one who couldn't come up with a date location so yes you have to do what I say.

[Once he was properly blindfolded she grabs his hand tight. There would be no slipping out of her grip. She stood a few seconds before Ienzo would feel himself being slowly lead through the barrier. He was surrounded by the same cold emptiness he would be familiar with from his days in the Organization and using these pathways himself.]

This is one thing I'm going to miss once my heart finds its way to me. The freedom's nice. Being able to go wherever I want whenever I want.

[She idly mused to fill up the silence. Truth be told she didn't really like silence most of the time. Soon Ienzo would feel that they had stepped out of the portal. The air was chilly and he could feel grass beneath his shoes.

Larxene moved behind him to take the blindfold off. Once he was able to focus his vision Ienzo would see that they were off the beaten path. There wasn't even the distant glimmer of the lights of a town. The only thing lighting their surroundings was the light of the moon and the many glittering stars above them. She had chosen a grassy hill which she had laid out a blanket as well as a picnic basket.]

I didn't want to deal with anyone getting nosy about what we were up to so I decided something like this was better than going out on the town.

You better appreciate it, I worked hard to get this picnic together.

[Which was only half true, but she never said she was the one to cook the food though.]

( how about prompt 13 mixed with 19? maybe after a battle. This little shorty is from a mecha series herself so we can kind of AU it where she's in his universe or vice-versa? or a mixture of the two universes. Whatever works for you! also sorry for the long tag..! lol )

[Yunoha knows that she's pretty weak when it comes to hand to hand or combat- in general, she typically strayed away from battles or the front line. She was more suited as a helper of sorts, her power of invisibility being incredibly useful when it came to fighting in giant metal robots ( or metal lions in some instances ) Yunoha knew that her powers were the only thing that really gave her an edge but they were miniscule in comparison to what the others did. Sometimes she felt insecure about her lack of strength, her tiny stature. It never did well for her and left her ridden with anxiety and sleepless nights. That's why she began training in secret, learning to fight and defend herself the best that she could. Her powers of invisibility was a unique trait to her but it wouldn't save her from everything. She wanted to be able to protect not only herself but her friends as well.

So when they were suddenly ambushed with a surprise attack and she was pushed off into a safe room by Keith, she felt frustrated and helpless. What happens afterward is sort of a blur- she remembers a rush of adrenaline coursing through her body; a mixture between anger and wild desperation spurning her on, the teen grabbing a nearby space weapon that was tucked away in a corner before dashing out of the room and joining the fray.

-When she wakes up it's in the medical bay, vision blurry as she stares up at the ceiling, her body feeling oddly sore. Coran is there to greet her with a happy yet stern voice. He tells her that she managed to surprisingly take down a number of their enemies and that her power of invisibility had been a keen aspect of it. She sustained a serious injury while coming to Keith's aid when he became overwhelmed with galra. Yunoha can only blink in astonishment as Coran helps her into a sitting position on the bed, the Altean reassuring her that everyone else was fine besides a couple of scrapes and bruises.]

Ah..Thank you Coran b-but I'm not hungry.. [She smiles weakly at the man, eyes lighting up when he presents her with her stuffed green friend, Tama. She hugs the cat-frog toy to her chest, taking comfort in its presence and waving goodbye to the Altean when he walks out of the room to give her time to rest. The silence afterward was deafening but she took the moment to process her thoughts and memories, a tiny sort of happiness bubbling inside of her, lips curving into a smile. I fought.. I helped the others out! She was really happy that she could contribute, no matter how injured she got in the process.]

[ The sky is in the cradle of twilight as Riku leans into the branch of 'their' tree, half-dazed and waiting for Sora to come meet him.

This is stupid. He knows it. He's not as confident as Kairi and his hesitation up until now has cost him so many things. He saw them earlier, so is it even worth it?

When else will he have a chance, though? With his responsibilities now, depending on the outcome ahead, he might be gone for a long time. Sora could be, too. He never knows when they might not see each other again. He believes in the connection between all their hearts, but...

Damn it. For once, he should say what he means, even if it's just his own selfish want to rip off the bandaid and get things over with. It doesn't matter what Sora says in return, right? ]

[ there's so much weighing heavy on sora's shoulders, the promise of a final showdown and being faced with what he's sure will be his biggest battle yet. he has his friends on his side, though—and his friends are his power. everything will work out. he knows it will.

earlier, when he was talking with kairi, riku had been sitting all alone, and it worried him. it just didn't feel right without him there. it's always been the three of them, but at some point, that dynamic shifted. he still can't discern the cause of it.

so when riku asked him to meet him, how could sora say no? ]

Riku?

[ he leans back against their tree, standing side by side, a curious look on his face. ]

What's up? You wanted to talk to me about something, right?

[ He nearly startles when Sora appears. He'd been so in his own head that he'd barely heard him.

He needs to get it together before he does this. With Sora, saying what he needs to say might not change anything. He might take it in stride or misunderstand his intentions. He might never give him an honest response.

He doesn't know which is worse... being left on the hook or being rejected. It might not matter at all if destiny plays out for him the way it always has. Riku can accept an ill-fate for himself. He's okay with it now more than ever. He's learned how to be much more true to himself.

All the same, it doesn't make any of this easier. ]

Yeah... before we go tomorrow, I wanted to talk to you about something. If I don't now, it might never come out of me.

[ a wave of anxiety washes over him. surely it can't be something bad, right? surely riku isn't thinking of leaving him again, right?

right?

but none of sora's fear and doubt shows on his face. instead, it's there in the way he fidgets, in the way his fingers curl and uncurl, in the way he shifts on the balls of his feet. ]

You make it sound like we aren't coming back.

It's not like that. I believe in all of us... what we can do when we work together. But, we don't know what ending this will take.

[ For as much as they know about Xehanort now and his plans, there's so much they're still in the dark about. They've got no more time to learn more. It's still a 'half-blind' situation. He's too realistic to believe they'll come out completely unscathed.

This is so much bigger than any of them. ]

I just felt like it was necessary to... bring this up. Just in case.

[ sora repeats it, stomach sinking. he wishes there didn't have to be a just in case, but he knows riku is right, and needless to say, he has his full attention. ]

... What is it? I'm listening.

[ his voice is little more than a murmur. he tilts his head, giving riku a look that he hopes is reassuring and standing just a bit closer. ]

You can tell me anything.

[ You can tell me anything.

It's not that simple. This feels like a huge anything. How did Kairi make it look so easy?

He'd rather be fighting right now. He'd rather be doing anything but this. His words are lead on his tongue, weighing his jaw down and trapping him in a long pause.

He flexes his fists at his sides. ]

I.

I need to tell you how I feel. Honestly, for once. I don't want an answer or anything. I just need you to listen. Okay?

[ his concern is even more apparent now. sora looks at him with wide eyes flooded with worry, a tentative hand reaching out to rest on riku's shoulder as he turns to face him. the least sora can do is try to reassure him, but... ]

Riku, you're kind of scaring me.

[ he swallows thickly before it occurs to him that whatever fear he's feeling, riku must be experiencing it tenfold. that knowledge brings sora back down to reality, realizing that right now, the most important thing is just being here.

it's just... he's never seen riku—cool, aloof riku—so nervous. that means sora has to put on a brave face here. ]

I'm listening. I promise. It's just me.

[ he squeezes his shoulder for good measure and tries a smile. ]

[ He knows he's being too serious about this. It's been this huge, frightening thing evolving before him for years. It took him so long to understand his feelings. He might continue to sit on them if it weren't for their present circumstances.

He crosses his arms over his chest. A gesture to close Sora out. Sora wouldn't hurt him intentionally, but he needs to prepare for Sora's kind honesty. For him not to understand. ]

I need to talk about... us.

[ This is stalling, which is bad. Why can't he just rip the bandaid off? ]
