[Os lifted a hand in a quick wave before pulling it back to adjust the strap of his backpack on his shoulder. Wrapped his fingers around the cloth to give them something to do so he didn't start making more awkward gestures.
He hovered near Ed's locker, as if he'd just sort of casually wandered that way instead of purposely hanging out in the door frame of the classroom across the hall since the bell rung just in case Ed stopped by it to switch out books or grab a project.]

That was mostly his way of checking if it was okay to sit by her. He didn't want to force his presence on her but he also wanted to make sure that she was doing alright or had someone to complain about stuff too. It would probably be the latter but sometimes that's what people needed.
