You weren't completely alone, though, and it's probably natural that you cling to whatever or whoever understands your dysfunction because they lived it, too. [Six months ago, Colleen and Sam Holt went down to the orphanage and announced their intentions to foster Keith. While the caretakers were none too attached to him, they'd voiced concerns about the Holts taking in a "discipline case;" luckily, that argument was shut down by Colleen's protectiveness. No child is perfect, but he's never been anything but sweet and well-behaved with us! she'd said.

It did take a while to get used to being in a real home, Keith worried that the slightest misstep could lead to him being thrown out. But the Holts have been nothing but understanding, and by now he's adjusted quite well.

It's almost perfect, except for one hiccup. Matt Holt, his best friend, the one who's pretty much responsible for him becoming a fixture at the house in the first place. Keith...kinda has feelings for him. And considering he's more or less an official member of their family now, that might not be okay.

He's pretty sure Matt would find it weird, anyway.]

[When his parents told him that Keith was never going back to the orphanage, he couldn't help but be extremely happy about it. Being able to know that Keith would be somewhere that he's actually cared for and loved.

But... it's also made everything just a bit more awkward. While Keith is definitely going to be loved and cared for, it makes his own feelings a bit awkward. Keith would probably think that he was awful and gross and all similar things.

As time passed, instead of things getting easier for him, things just got harder. Everything Keith did made his heart do funny things, and the more he realized he loved him.

He has no idea how to reconcile this, but he does know that he can't lose Keith, no matter what.]

[And Keith just figured out what his feelings were fairly recently. He'd had a huge crush on Shiro, sure, but his age and Shiro already being taken meant he'd never act on it. Matt's closer to his age, not taken, and, well. The feelings run deeper.

Right now, they're in their secret hiding spot in the attic, reading stories of space explorers together. Cuddled close, under a blanket in the corner, listening to the rain falling outside. It's warm and cozy and everything about it is just perfect.]

[Matt's laughing at a particular story, an old one where the explorers are in almost ridiculous gear and make even more ridiculous assumptions about the moon and the conditions in space.

He's snuggled up against Keith, as they always are, and ends up putting his head on Keith's shoulder, giggling some more.]

I still can't believe that people actually thought this about the moon. I think I'd more believe the green cheese myth.

People sure thought weird things about space back in the old days. I know the moon's got a lot of myths about it, like that "rabbit on the moon" story Shiro's grandpa used to tell him, but at least that one's kinda cute.

((perfect! I'm thinking a bit like his canon he was found collapsed in the snow. He's taken in by the master and all of his memories are being raised alongside Aqua and training to be a keyblade master.

I'm not sure on the specific scenario where that'd tip over into romance though. Any thoughts on your end how you'd like to do that?))

(Sounds like a good plan to me. Just trying to think of a good starter situation. The one thing that comes to mind is maybe sparring. I'd also be happy with them attending some sort of festival or something light-hearted too though.)
