[ the bodyguard, either literally or more figuratively (helping with a temporary transfer, assassin sent in to rescue your character from Bad Guy Of The Week, one of his colleagues if you're a canonmate or a fellow assassin/spy, etc). okay with starting at the beginning to establish their ‘click’ and skipping around, or starting right in the middle. especially up for tropes such as ‘I just rescued you from X threat because it’s my job but now I’m realizing all these protective emotions aren’t just work-related and oh, wow, there’s a lot of energy right now’ or exploring a rare quiet-and-alone moment between the two. fan of slow burn.

Hi ^^ How about James Bond, meet Mycroft Holmes? A 00 agent sent to act as guard in what supposed to be a simple escorting a captured traitor back to England. This would be by train because flying is not an option. There would be attack(s) during their journey across Europe, which might be aimed to prevent the captured man coming to the hands of the Secret Service alive, or might be to give him chance to escape.
A man in his early thirties, the supposed genius works in the Ministry of Transport as mid-level paper-pusher but supposedly he had been caught of having sensitive materials on hand (read, national security related) and had sold it to foreign government. Of course, sending a 00 as escort seems to be overkill but as later happenings would show, things are not what it seems in the first place.

[So I've got a nice guy here in Nida, a nice SeeD from FF8. I mean, he's literally perfect to protect given he's already a mercenary. He'd be happy to protect you, and given the relative similarities in age he can blend better as a protector.]

[m/m and m/f welcomed. fast romance because that's how tommy rolls. He works as a bodyguard if he has his super-speed powers. Without them it's a bit amusing because you can also go the route where he's the son of a wealthy, powerful, or noble family.]

[ Either role, but also potentially being used, once again, for her knowledge about various villains to help solve some crime or another (so being watched and guarded but not necessarily protected). ]
