[Whether Alucard is attracted down the dirty alley by the battle of Calugareni itself (the way the soldiers had flushed into the surrounding towns to loot and pillage and rape) or because of the very obvious amount of blood that's tracked out of the alleyway by four sets of different boots headed quickly past him as he walks by is anyone's guess.

It doesn't matter much, because what he'll find will still be the same -- a woman pushing herself desperately over and over up against a wall to try and get herself upright, almost not-quite making it each time. Her furs are spattered with red, the peasant shift beneath it is stained with fresh blooms of it, and her right hand is dark with it up to the wrist.

She makes a gasp-wheeze as she breathes, but that somehow just makes her sound angry, like a boiling kettle.]

[ Vampires don't come to Lupu. Night creatures don't come to Lupu. Or if they do, they go unseen and don't cause trouble. Which means Trevor Belmont doesn't really make it a habit to travel that way. No coin to be earned there, not for someone who can't do honest work. But there's a doctor there. Which would be great, because his arm is broken in a way that he doesn't think that he can deal with on his own, and he really would like to maintain use of it. He's only a half day's (slow, painful) walk from the village. Not quite long enough for the cuts to stop weeping, hopefully not long enough for infection to take hold, but long enough for his clothes to become welded to the broken flesh with blood.

[it was the perfect trap. even with all the countermeasures they put in place, their enemy seemed to remain two steps ahead of them. their plan was to properly separate Assassin from his Master, leaving the lesser experienced man to deal with the far better equipped Tohsaka Rin. and at first? it worked. Rider succeeded in forcing Assassin away from their ideal target. all that was left to be done now was to dispatch of them separately.

the heroic spirit Vidar. a divine existence that should have been impossible to call upon. if anything, he could have been called either the greatest accident of the Tohsaka line, or a fated calamity just waiting to happen. for someone known as the "Silent God", he wasn't quite as silent as the mythology would suggest; he had his other half, the vessel of the compatible Cloud Strife, to thank for that. yet he didn't seem to mind relinquishing most control over to the vessel. they carried an advantage in that his identity as the son of Odin was well hidden, thanks to the fact that much of his fighting style and weaponry was based from the former SOLDIER he was bound to.

a shame that even the divine could turn a blind eye, or rather...be deceived. what neither Rider or Rin accounted for was the fact that the 'Assassin' he had been fighting was an illusion. and by the time Rider had raced back to her side, the damage had already been done. neither Assassin or his Master were anywhere to be seen. after all, if the Master were to die, not even Rider could maintain his body long after.]

Vidar never recalled this in his past. yet something about the scene was familiar to somebody. ah... so that was it. a shame that something like this must have happened to 'Cloud' before. come to think of it, it wasn't often that Rider actually called his Master by her name.

but...she was still breathing. he could feel her mana still being supplied to him. they were going to regret keeping her alive like this, because he would be damned if he ended up losing her. not if he knew there was still something he could do about it. he doesn't lift her up just yet, not wanting to disturb her injuries until he was ready for them to move. kneeling at her side, Vidar took her hand and squeezed it.]
