Ahhh, young love. Whether it's precious or bittersweet, it's something that stays with you. Remember that time...? Of course you do. Both of you thought you'd last forever. Or maybe you were too young to know what that meant. All that mattered was that you were kids and you were together. But time and circumstance tears even the best of friends and young lovers apart. That person, your childhood crush, your first love, is just a memory.

Now, you're being given a second chance. Will it be painful? Will you confess everything and try to win their affection again? You've been reunited, and it's up to you what happens.

HOW TO
① Comment with your character. You can state preferences and such in your subject.
② Characters who comment will be their childhood sweetheart/first love. The muns can figure out how that works, but when in doubt, just wing it. It's a meme. Fun is the goal here.
③ KISS AND REUNITE. Or argue and storm off. Or cry. Or laugh. Or sex. Whatever is appropriate.

Like Jen comes back but can't stay long - oh we could do an alt take on when they talk during the teamup with Wild Force, or it could be some other situation pre or post that when she comes back? She could save his ass, or just come back to visit, or she could be tracking another criminal and can't stay?]</small.

[ When Jen got back after the Mut-Orgs mission, Alex had looked at her with a gaze that said "Well done, excellent work" and "I can't believe you threw away an opportunity to either spend more time with Wes or stay in the past altogether." Since then, he's been a little more deliberate about assigning her to missions that take place in the year 2001, and especially if they're around Silver Hills. Part of Jen thinks it's sweet that he's thinking of her happiness, and she can't deny that hope is a pleasant warmth in her stomach every time she travels back to that time and place. The rest of her wonders why they bother; no way she'll be that lucky again, and even if she were... it's not like she can just leave. She has a family, friends, and a job in Millennium City. Nothing is ever that simple when time travel is involved, no matter how much she loves Wes.

It's kind of familiar now, that mix of feelings in her chest when she walks out of the single-passenger time ship. It'll fall quiet under the tension and concentration it'll take to complete the mission, and then it'll change to sadness when she goes back home. This is her life now, but at least she knows what love is, what it means, how it feels.

The team back in AD 3000 is getting better and better at pinpointing when and where Things Will Go Wrong, so Jen is barely a few minutes and a few blocks into Silver Hills before her target emerges from a bank with a metal suitcase, to the cacophony of people screaming for either help or law enforcement intervention.

Right. That'd be her.

She gives chase, a smaller, sleeker blaster in hand (set to INCAPACITATE, thank you very much, and it's only temporary). It feels good to run, to parkour a little, through familiar streets. She could see herself living here if fate hadn't put her on the planet one thousand years ahead of the person she loves most. But at least she has this, an overall easy mission. She's closing in on the criminal when he goes and knocks over a guy and get on his motorcycle—

Two things happen in rapid succession: Jen takes a clear shot at the criminal and sends him sprawling on the pavement, and she realizes who the owner of the motorcycle is. ]

Wes. [ Then, a second later, louder, as she approaches the scene to cuff her target. ] Wes!

[ She's. She's not thinking about the fact that she's heading to him with futuristic handcuffs in her hand. It makes perfect sense to her because she's on the job and about to arrest a criminal while also greeting the love of her life with a smile and wide, joyful eyes. ]

((Was that cute, jovial crybaby of a kid who grew up into a sullen, stoic teenager. Maybe experienced some memory loss from his childhood that he's slowly regaining now that his sweetheart is back in his life?))

Cloud Strife hadn't been home in years. All he knew was that he'd lost too much and he couldn't take anymore of it. He needed a new start and /home/ was all he could thing of. He parked his bike outside on the street and leaned against it. He sighed and glanced up catching sigh of a face that looked all too familiar. He blinked a few times trying to see if he was seeing correctly.

Squall hadn't exactly left though things had certainly changed. The wide-eyed crybaby had grown up into a handsome teenager, cold, stoic and distant. He seemed to have better control of his emotions though he didn't stop the wide eyed surprise he felt when he spotted Cloud.

He had suppressed a lot of memories from his childhood but seeing Cloud now, bits and pieces were flowing back.

"... Cloud?"

Cloud stood up straight and approached his friend. The sword on his back taller than the both of them. "Squall?" He questioned. "Is that really you?" The quiet blonde had managed a small smile for the familiar face. He'd always been fond of the brunette, perhaps too fond. He thought back to the times they'd played together as kids. Cloud hadn't recognized it then, but maybe it was more.

He opened his arms for a hug, despite remembering the other wasn't terribly fond of them.

Squall had moved within arm's reach now but the sight of the hug made him freeze. He wanted to say yes, maybe even allow the affection, but instead he folded his arms and turned away.

"You have the wrong guy."

Cloud frowned and put his arms back down. "Apologies, then." He said quietly. "You look just like a friend of mine from when I was a kid." Cloud explained as he put his arms back in his pockets. "I left so long ago and things have changed since then." He said with a small smile.

Ugh. Now he felt bad about it but he stubbornly kept himself from looking at Cloud.

"... the place hasn't changed."

He looked around.

"Maybe it's because everyone I've grown up with has moved on... or...." he paused and memories came flooding back to him. His childhood friends, and Aerith... she was gone, truly gone.

He had a pained look on his face as he stared off into the distance.

Ugh. Squall wished he could just walk away. Seeing Cloud had driven up some memories he thought he had lost and he wasn't sure he was happy about it.

He sighed.

"Where are you headed?"

He shrugged. "A hotel, I guess." He replied. "I grew up here as an orphan, no home to really go to." The only home he had, he couldnt go back to.

"Any pointers on a good one?"

"Depends on how long you're staying." Orphan. They grew up together in the orphanage, didn't they? It's strange he forgot that.

He shrugged. "I don't have an estimated time right now. I may decide to stay again indefinitely. " he explained. "I...I cant go back to where an just left." His voice was sad and a deep despair glazed his eyes.
