After Oliver had been hired as Downton's gamekeeper, it hadn't taken long for him to learn that Lady Sybil wasn't putting on airs like many other ladies. She was easy to talk to and took interest in surprising things. She had even started working at the hospital, tending the injured soldiers.

Oliver had been to Downton to discuss business matters with the Earl himself and then he lingered on, walking the gardens. In a little while, Sybil returned from the hospital and she stopped to speak to him. They sat on one of the benches outside and before Oliver had time to register, Sybil had started to nod off and then she completely fell asleep on him.

Oliver looked around, a little confused, but then he gently moved Sybil so that her head rested on his lap.

[his eyes snapped wide awake, recollecting an admittedly fuzzy memory as his racing heart slowly begins to settle. the sound of the ocean was quick to remind the young swordsman of the fact he was dreaming. not that the waking world was any better considering he was trapped in what was apparently the Realm of Darkness. lost, weakened and unable to find a way home, he would have been no different from the denizens of shadow if it wasn't for the light of one girl.

someone who found herself trapped here in kind, wielding a mysterious weapon called a Keyblade. despite everything Aqua had been through, she still acted as a light that shined through the darkness, waiting for the day that help would arrive least she could save her friends.

so they fought together, seeking answers in the abyss that saw no end. eventually their travels lead them back to the dark margin. one of the few places of feigned solace in this realm where they found time to rest and reflect.]

[as Cloud comes to, he felt a gentle weight against his side. she must have finally let herself rest while he was dozing off. this girl... he was here for what felt like months, but how long had it been for her? how could she still shine so bright despite all the despair thrown her way?]

... [the faint smile that crossed his lips was telling. he welcomed the warmth as Aqua rested against his arm, yet there was a hint of sadness behind his eyes. he needed to find a way back to his family. to his friends... but not without saving her too.]

[Look, if he was awake and aware, Jen might be more put out, but asleep and no longer full of the sass that they use both as friends and for necessary space, she can see how tired he actual is. And, well, he's not bad looking when he's not driving her crazy. It's actually kind of nice to feel the warmth and weight of him on her shoulder. Without really thinking about it, she shifts her weight a little so she can lean back into him a little, finding the more comfortable spot.]
