[Sora and Riku had known they were soulmates from a young age. Their marks had always matched and it made sense that they should fit together because of that.

Sora had always loved that he and Riku were so connected. Even during the times when they were forced apart, he could look at the mark on his wrist and it's strong and vibrant colors would be proof that Riku was okay.

Everything about their journey had been tied together. He knew he could count on Riku through everything, even when they had been young and at odds their connection never faded. Then they had mended that tension, found each other again, and had even found the ability to summon a Keyblade that felt like the physical embodiment of their bond.

End the end, Sora had felt he could go after Kairi because his connection with Riku would help him find his way back home.

The colors of their marks would have faded if anything irreversible had happened.

And now Sora finds himself lost in the edges of sleep and death and he knows that the colors on Riku's wrist are still as strong as ever. He doesn't fully know where he is or what state his heart is in, but it still feels strong enough to connect with his soulmate.

There's a light in the darkness, and he knows it belongs to Riku. He goes to it, always drawn to his best friend and soul mate.]

Riku...? [He isn't sure if he speaks with a real voice or just an impression. Could this be Riku's dream? Or someplace else? He doesn't know, but the presence of someone so dear to him brings him comfort as he is lost in this place where he wanders.]

[For the longest time Crow had been known as a 'no-mark', one of the few things the kids from his hometown held over him with teasing reminders as their own marks started to fill in. But oddly enough, it didn't really bother him a whole lot, to be running along the beach with friends marked up and his own unblemished youth visible to all.

That lack of remorse only grew into a cool balm as he grew into his early teens, for each day he fell deeper into his anger and hatred, he knew he would wake up and not have to worry about someone else being dragged in and affected by his decisions. At least-- he had that reassurance up until he overcame the Awakener trials, for after that was when everything began to tilt, and all because of some black ink.

Even now as Crow idly thumbed over where he knew the tattoo to be, it was innocuous enough in its wording. Honestly for how commonplace it stood, it was almost comedic in the plainness compared to everything in his life. So much so that he just might still get away with it like he has everything else so far. Yet, as he watched Rean place his lunch order in at the counter, Crow was reminded that life just couldn't be that fair as the living embodiment of what can only be divine karma was before him. Not that Rean knew himself (at least... he doesn't believe so) and as far as he was concerned, that was how things will stay.

But goddamn, it isn't as if he can deny the chemistry he feels towards his junior. And that pull, that-- desire to want is what scares him the most out of all this. Which is all the more reason why he can't.]

Didn't notice it until in the shower the next morning after her usual run. There, under the curve of her left breast, over her heart, was colourful ink. Fingers itched to take a picture, but anything recorded was going to be picked up and she would have to report the manifestation to Human Resources right away. Keeping quiet for a few days, she had time to check her movements, to backtrack and determine where she might have been to have found whoever this was. Her phone was tracked, of course, and there were always CCTV cameras and the facial recognition program that would make tracking herself a breeze. However, anything written or looked up, beyond what was typical, could get flagged with the powers that be and start an investigation, suspecting that she had been compromised.

As she dressed and drank her coffee, the day before was reviewed. Anna had gone through her usual morning routines while Holmes had meetings. The afternoon was quiet as a new situation developed. He went to the club, she stayed in the office. Had training that evening, after which Holmes called requiring her assistance. Mentally noted the new people they had met. Somewhere along the way she had touched this person, skin to skin.
