"Hello," Sam said, stepping between Barry and window full of adorable puppies. "I need you to stop making those faces at the puppies that we are definitely not buying." He heard the yips behind him but tried to ignore the indignant sounds.
His finger slipped under Barry's chin to not only draw his eyes up but his whole person. "I know that this is how you are, but I was sent here to make sure you stayed low for a while. You barking back isn't helping." Sam's own smile was just barely there, and he forced his lips to settle into a thin line.
"Can we please go?" Sam raised up the bags of clothes he got, all in Barry's slim size. "We can grab lunch if you're hungry." And Sam was hungry, but he'd leave it up to Barry. They could always grab something on the way back to the motel.
"So, this is where whatshisnuts has been staying? It's so stupid." Jace opened the door and saw the canoes. None of them were impressive.
"But good on you for finding him, but I could have found him no problem. What's going on?" Jace had turned to look at Raphael, his shirt half-tucked, the neck open, showing off his runes and skin.
There was something definitely off about Jace, but he wasn't aware of the fairy dust that had been slipped to him. Izzy had said he needed tea, but now he was thirsty and hungry.
"He's not here," Jace stated, turning and standing up, looking at Raph. "Does that mean your evening is free?"
[Travis knew going into this relationship that Leo was not the...most optimistic of souls. That was putting it charitably. The Lion was a born cynic, with a short temper, and a tendency to hate people from the moment he laid eyes on them. Despite all that, he'd fallen for the Tin Man, and seemed to see him as a light in the dark.
Travis was the opposite. He was full of enthusiasm and joie de vivre. Despite all he'd been through, he still kept a good outlook on life. Things could knock him down, but he'd always get back up. Leo might have been as crotchety as an old man and snap at anyone besides his paramour, but all Leo saw when he looked at him was the good things in life. He wouldn't trade the grouchy lion for anyone.
It was raining when the two of them woke up in bed. Leo had gone out the previous night, one of the times he wanted to be alone, and had come back in early in the morning smelling of booze and with busted-up knuckles. He'd been grumbly as Travis patched him up and fell asleep pretty fast. Looking over at him, Travis wondered if his mood would be any better today. He leaned over and kissed the back of his neck, winding an arm around him.]
