hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. [ Betting bloody and bruised isn't anything new for this duo. In fact, it would be a surprise if they came out of a fight unscathed because that means they weren't putting their heart into it. In Judith's mind, a fight isn't a good fight if she doesn't taste her own blood a little. There are no major wounds on her body at the very least so she is able to remain in high spirits about the current situation. ]

You do know how to impress a girl. [ Judith lightly patting his cut lip with a water soaked cloth. It's just the two of them right now and that means there are no healing artes to patch them up. (okay, so maybe Yuri does have one, but that would ruin all of the fun.) It isn't as if doing this the good ol' fashioned way isn't calming. ]

[ For as cold and cruel as Overwatch could be to its lesser members, it never held a candle to Talon. At least with Overwatch, fallen soldiers got metal boxes and flags. The bodies of Talon agents are considered lucky if they end up with a six foot deep hole and kerosene. MIA, but no medals or letters home. And no cost spent on field medics, either. They say the doctors have better use of their time, on experiments. Talon is ruthless.

The Reaper knew that when he signed up. That's why he signed up. He never wanted a funeral or a gravestone. As far as anyone who mattered knew, he was already dead. A quiet fade into the shadows, then gone, was the best he could ask for. Only that's not what he got. Who knew not being able to die would be such a pain in the ass?

He tries again with a renewed burst of strength to shove off of him the slab of stone that his him pinned. Same as before, he gets it up maybe a couple of inches, the metal rod through his shoulder grating against bone before his strength fails and it all drops hard back down onto him. With a pained growl, he tries to sink into the concrete's shadow again, and that's even worse agony. He gasps and pants against the inside of the mask before letting his head drop back.

His strength doesn't come back; if anything, he's getting weaker. There are some things that are worse than being dead, and this is one of them. [ After the address to the Greek island he's trapped on is sent, the connection is cut off. Then there's nothing for Gabriel to do but wait, hope Morrison doesn't actually show up, and pray for death. ]

[ lorna doesn't know that esme is the one who implanted the dream of everyone in her life in a cell, including her unborn child, that all of those fears have stuck in her head because someone wanted them to. it's not that she'd been sleeping great prior to that, but since that first nightmare things have only gotten worse. three am finds her jolting out of her dream with her heart pounding in her ears and tears forming in her eyes, and her hand slaps against her throat, confirming to herself that it's not encased in a collar, she's no longer in prison, she's fine, they're fine.

she can't tell if marcos is awake or not, and she wants to wake him if he's not. but she's still too frozen with fear to do anything but try to catch her breath as it comes in rapid inhales and exhales through her nostrils, her mouth clamped shut. the hand not at her throat presses against her abdomen and she swears she could feel the life inside press back in reassurance.
