how was kissing someone at midnight 'ringing in' the new year? what did they even have to celebrate? managing to somehow not die?

considering that quill had been doing a lot of that lately, and she had a specific way of celebrating her battles, it... was not taking too much to get her on board with the idea. it helped that, in a weirdly human way, he didn't look repulsive.

so without any fuss, he'll find her hands on his jacket, sharply tugging him towards her as she kisses him. did he see it coming? )
