Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful.

But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner.

Like you're doing now.

Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached...

the answer is: barely. shiva opts to shifts into a more... mortally acceptable size in order to partake in this very human activity. primal beasts have no need to mingle with such affairs as bathing, one of which is quite sensitive to, but — it was insisted by a certain someone that he must try at least once if he wants to capture the full cultural experience.

in short, it is somewhat a of a new... joy, of his.

what he doesn't expect is to be accompanied by another. she has never met the woman, but is still intrigued by her form regardless. the bathroom is a small one, but they're crammed there with the shower running. shiva's snake, nagaraja squeaks curiously at the woman. ] You are neither primal beast nor mortal...

[ he doesn't sound threatened in the least. at most, he is interested - even moreso toward her than the activity that he wishes to experience. ]

The Anatoly case is all over the news for weeks, which consequently means Matt's face is, too. A botched witness protection case that was arguably botched on purpose, and a grieving family trying to sue the local branch of the FBI for damages while Matt was left trying to conclusively prove that the Kingpin's men had infiltrated some of the FBI. Grieving family, pro bono case, blind lawyer: the media loves it.

It puts Matt under a lot of pressure to come out with a win.

Peter tries not to bother him too much during all of this. They see each other, sure, go out for dinner, go on patrols, but Matt is busy with one of those landmark cases that will build his career for the next few years. He'll be able to sail on this, if he wins it. People will remember his name. People will pay extra for his attentions.

And then it's over.

Peter doesn't look up the verdict. He doesn't watch the final news coverage. He's busy breaking into Matt's apartment (though the understanding that one window is left intentionally easy to jimmy open if you're able to climb walls or climb up flagpoles) and smuggling in a collection of goodies he's bought from various vendors.

Peter doesn't know Laura Kinney, the clone / daughter of Logan, but he knew Logan, when he was alive. He asked Laura for help, and found her surprisingly informative and far, far more openly helpful than Logan ever would have been. He needed to know what scents went best together for someone of heightened senses, what candles were good and which just smelled like paraffin wax, what ingredients went best with what. Laura and her sister / clone Gabby had an extensive list of suggestions, and Peter was left with a fantastic shopping list.

He knows when Matt will be home, and how much time he has. Peter's been planning this for days. He sets up the candles, he runs the bath, he puts half the bath bomb in early because Matt won't care about seeing it fizz and change colors, and he gets undressed. There's a body oil that Peter knows Matt likes, and he rubs himself down with it after a shower, before wrapping himself in a towel and... waiting.

He's got the braille edition of Scientific American out, because he's switched all his magazine subscriptions to braille recently in a bid to, you know, learn it. He could memorize it fine, but it's not going to stick if he doesn't use the skill. And he's found that reading is so much faster when it's just touching dots. It's really amazing.

And then he hears the door lock pop open, and Peter puts the magazine aside. He ties a towel around his waist-- one of the shorter ones meant more for cleaning your face, whatever, he'll wash it later-- and pops out of the bathroom and toward the door.

When he sees Matt, he bows and puts on a truly terrible accent: "Garçon, if you would follow moi..."
