He was rushing it more than a bit, trying to get done before everyone showed up, though and-- sloshes boiling water squarely over his left hand while trying to drain the noodles.

Although he tries (valiantly?) to muffle his shout, there's no helping the racket of the pot hitting the sink, the spilled noodles unhelpfully sending up a cloud of steam to obscure his vision. (Damn glasses, sometimes.)

Fumbling for the tap, he tries to get cold water going to run over his hand. Cold water, right? Ice would feel pretty good right now, actually- it's starting to hurt like hell.
