[ He rises with the sun because that’s the only thing that he can remember: that the sun is his and he is the sun. The words don’t make sense when he says them aloud but he can feel that they’re right, somewhere deep in his chest and in the pit of his stomach. A fierce kind of instinctive possessiveness - the sun is mine and I am the sun. He keeps that thought to himself, mostly. It’s the only thing he has, even a whole week after having arrived in this world.

Arrived. That’s what they say – that he isn’t from here, that he’d “arrived” one day, which was putting it politely. He’d fallen from the sky, in flames and chaos – not a weapon, sent to destroy Lucis, but a man. A man who could survive falling from the sun (apparently) with everything intact except for his memory.

So, every morning, the nameless man rises with the sun because it’s the only thing he knows. Everything else is a slow process of learning: the city is Lucis, the world is Eos. The man keeping an eye on him is Nyx. Nyx is meant to protect Lucis from threats, and the man is sure that if he turns out to be a weapon after all then it’s Nyx’s job to stop him.

The man hopes that won’t happen, but he has no idea what either of them will do if it does. For now, he focuses on that one golden, luminous thing he does know: the sun is his. Everything else in this world is up for debate.

Every morning since he arrived, he spends the dawn hour on the rooftops, face turned towards the east, watching as the sky above them lightens and the city around him comes alive. And something, somewhere deep in his chest and in the pit of his stomach, deep inside the man comes alive as well. ]

Peter tried not to worry too much when Wade went off and did the things that he did. He had a job to do, as twitchy as it made Peter when the man disappeared for days at a time, with no access to a phone. But Wade would always come back, he always did (but what if he didn't?). He tries not to psychoanalyze himself, but Peter is well aware he has some issues with being abandoned and/or left behind, so. Yeah.

He's even proud of himself when he doesn't worry as three days extends into four without any word from Wade. Sometimes jobs ran late. It wasn't his fault, and Peter wasn't going to get anxious about it. He'd come back when he came back...

Then four turned into five. Into six. The seventh day, he can't contain the worry, and starts calling everywhere he can think of to find out where the hell Wade went. It wasn't like him to let a job go on so long without a single word - even if that word came through Weasel, if it wasn't safe for Wade to contact Peter himself. But Weasel hadn't heard anything.

It's a struggle to focus on anything when Wade's missing like this, but Peter does have school and life to attend to, so he forces himself to classes, getting up and fleeing at the first opportunity. However, it's on the way back from class that he spots him. The joy and relief is so potent it almost knocks Peter off his feet, but he's running towards him before he can think about it. "Wade! Wade!"
