Court Sorcerer. Merlin's still getting used to the title. Hell, he's still getting used to having a title, unless you count being the King's only manservant as one, but this carries a lot more weight to it. This one means he's not standing behind Arthur at counsel meetings, waiting to refill his cup or fetch anything he might need.

It means he's sat at Arthur's side, that when he speaks, everyone pays attention. Visiting knights no longer feel entitled to barking orders at him. So, some of it's nice. A lot of it is just very unnerving, though. He's not sure how Arthur handles all that attention, all the time.

At least there's Gwen to confide in for that, since she went through something very similar, going from chambermaid to queen. That doesn't mean he won't complain to Arthur about it soon as they're alone, though. Honestly, little has changed between the two of them, save for Merlin's new status putting them on a little more even footing in an official capacity.

"Counsel meetings almost make me miss being your servant." He says on a grin. "At least then if I stopped paying attention to the boring parts, no one noticed."
