WHAT'S YOUR BACKSTORY? MEME Maybe your character's media portrayal left a little to be desired when it comes to backstory. What are you supposed to do with that? Just suffer? Do nothing? Complain on the internet? NO!!! You play out backstory threads like there's no tomorrow! This is a meme to play out anything that happened to your character before their appearance, or between their appearances, or hell, just because we're that laid-back, after they exit stage right. Come up with some rad backstory for your characters and save the threads to come back to when you need some nice nostalgia. • Top level your character. [When he was seven he manifested the ability to bilocate, essentially being in two places at once, and wasn't always great at controlling it and so sometimes popped into places he wasn't supposed to be. When he was nine, he used his abilities to solve a murder, which involved lots of projecting himself into dangerous places late at night and/or using his powers to break into buildings, go places he shouldn't be and just generally sneak around.

Alternatively, he's been in his dad's lab way more times than is really justifiable for a small child because his dad is trying to suss out the science of his powers. Sometimes with ethically dubious science - guess how they found out being badly startled makes the projected Alex poof out of existence - so scientific types can feel free to stumble onto either a tiny Alex in the lab or It's Not What It Looks Like: Science Edition.

Open to cross-canon and assumed CR and everything, really.]

[ ooc: Half fire elemental. His stepmother locked him away for most of his childhood. In his room if he was lucky. In a dark damp hole when she decided he needed to be punished. You could run into him as child on the rare occasion when he's escaped the clutches of his stepmother or during one the few social events when she was obliged to grudgingly trot him out for propriety's sake.

Alternatively, he was a very very angry young man, and once he was able to fight back against the abuse, he spent a lot of time on the streets, drinking, gambling, sleeping around, and starting fights.

[ When he had closed his eyes, he didn't think it would be possible to open them again. After all, he'd exhausted himself. It was over or at least he hoped it was finally. But this? This wasn't quite what he imagined the afterlife to be like. He imagined it more... well, less like what living was like. More like hell. It was all too calm, all too pleasant to be hell. All too familiar, really.

He'd been away so long, after all... that short homecoming before he had to escape again hadn't been enough to really see what had happened to Konoha in the years after That Incident. It was both convenient and strange but perhaps the powers that be wanted him to see the fruits of his labor. It would be a fitting goodbye at least. Part of him felt like his soul would be more at peace.

He knew these woods though. The powers that be had deposited him right in the thick of the woods right outside the Village. He checked himself as he got up. His cloak wasn't with him. Probably for the best. If anyone ID'd him as Akatsuki, it wouldn't be likely that he'd be able to get away in time. His chakra was low, after all... still expended from that fight with Sasuke. But amazingly, nothing hurt. Even that burning sensation and the weakness in his lungs. Gone.

With that, he started for the village. Surely, he could still manage to blend in as long as he kept his head down and his mouth shut - and his eyes a varying shade of non-sharingan. ]
