Maybe you were a hero, now you're a villain. Maybe you were the older sibling and now you're the younger one. Maybe you were an ice cream man and now you're a super hero (who is also an ice cream man). Maybe you were a cop and now you're us instead. Essentially you're playing your character in a different kind of role than they would usually be in. If their personality hasn't changed how do they fit in their new role? If their personality HAS changed, how so? It's a fun thing to explore. • Top level your character. If you'd like, put any preferences for what kind of role swap you'd like to play out, what your character's usual role is, so on and so forth. • Reply to other characters! Canon, cross-canon, whatever. You can be a hero in one world and a villain in another without even changing your ideals. • Have fun!

[ "Taking it easy" has never been Gamora's strong suit. Aleta never took a day off, so she expected her crew to do the same. Even when Gamora spent time with Yondu's faction, they didn't so much have days off as they had "drink and cavort and get as fucked up as possible" days. Not much got done in the way of work during those times, but that was different from time taken to recover.

Broken bones? Back to duty. Gunshots? Keep it moving. Stab wounds? Not their problem.

So when she's stuck in the hospital for over a week, she's not enjoying herself. At first, she's on too many pain medications for her to be truly aware of the passage of time (other than the comings and goings of the other Guardians). More than once, she accidentally drifts off mid-conversation or in a moment of quiet – even when she's trying her hardest to stay awake, usually when Peter is around.

The haze of drugs passes slowly, but she's not entirely clear on all of the details about what happened after she was shot. She remembers Peter absolutely destroying a few Kree, and then hiding and waiting with him. She remembers him carrying her, his hands on her face, and—

He promised to dance with her, didn't he?

She's sure that he did.

But she's not entirely sure how to mention it, because she doesn't want to scare him off or make him uncomfortable or anything like that. But... she really wants to dance with him.



It's only been two weeks when the Guardians are taking jobs again – small ones, ones that they don't really need to have Gamora along for the ride. She doesn't like being left behind, but she can only argue with Peter so much before she eventually caves.

(Usually because she physically, literally runs out of the energy to keep being obstinate.)

Three weeks, and Gamora's stitching has dissolved appropriately, leaving behind a nasty, punched-out knot of scar tissue on her back. It's tender, and touching it still makes her flinch, but it's moved past the point of being an open wound. She's finally going off on jobs with the team again, though she knows they're purposefully taking the "easier" ones, the kinds of gigs that won't put Gamora in overly dangerous positions.

She hates it. She absolutely hates it, but what can she do? What should she do?

She just has to wait it out.



Five weeks, and Gamora is restless. She wants to do more, she wants to be back to normal, and she's tired of taking it easy. She wants to do something fun, to be back on track, which is why when she's sitting up one night on her watch, she has a holopad in her hands to scroll through the open calls. A bottle of liquor waits on the table, open as she absently sips from it.

But she's switching between jobs and looking for events – a pitstop or two that the Guardians might be on board with. She wants to find something fun, something interesting, but—

Something that has dancing. ]

Zack paces back and forth as he waits for the SOLDIER unit dispatched by Shinra to deal with Nibelheim's Reactor issue. The small unit consisted of none other than the legendary Sephiroth himself! On top of that, he was expecting to see someone else accompanying the silver-haired warrior. While Sephiroth was important to many worldwide, this particular person hit somewhat closer to home.

Much, much closer to home. He couldn't wait to see her after all these years. Upon hearing that she made it to First Class, he was thrilled for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it was what she wanted. Secondly?

The second thing was more of a personal perk to Zack, as his last mental image of Tifa Lockhart had been the pair of them at the Nibelheim well that one starry night several years ago. Being imprisoned for decades, even in one's own creation, would be enough to drive anyone a little mad.

Of course, some would argue that madness was the natural state of being for a lich, and maybe that was true, but years upon years of confinement and isolation, able to feel and even sometimes hear her brother and her friends but only rarely, imperfectly, being able to attempt communicating anything to them? That certainly didn't help with keeping the madness at bay.

It definitely didn't help when suddenly all that feeling became all the more acute, the disgruntlement, the anger, the pain, it was just too much. Taako needed her and there was nothing she could do to help, despite her railing against her confines.

But then, well, then there was hope, brief and bright and in the form of someone she knew, down to her very bones, was the cause of most of that suffering.

The thing about the Umbra Staff was that it had been designed to contain energy, yes, and it did that well, she wasn't an idiot when it came to inventing things.
The fact that it had been able to contain an entire lich was a surprise, and had she not been the lich in question, she'd have been impressed at her own skill. Even though she was the lich in question, she was still a little impressed.

Two entire liches, however? That was definitely too much for the staff to handle, and once Lup had verified just who Edward was, that he'd been the one causing her brother so much upset and so much pain, she knew she could use him to get out.

Which she did, when the umbrella folded back from devouring him, it did so with a gout of flame, larger than necessary, perhaps, and roaring. When it died down, there stood Lup, phantasmal, resplendent, and still throttling the now-crumbling remains of what had once been Edward with both hands. She tossed what was left aside as she turned, embers flaring with blue flames in hollow eye sockets, "Okay, where's the fuckin' party?"

[ Takodana had not been a complete victory, but there's an air of celebration in the Resistance base on D'Qar anyway, a brief respite from the series of unfortunate events that hit the rebels one after the other. Nearly everyone allowed themselves the night off — to relax, to catch up with their buddies, maybe even share a few drinks. But Black Squadron's youngest and newest member, to no one's surprise, was missing in action. Abel Torfos had never been much for revelry; recruited from Birren and assigned to the squadron by the General herself, he was a talented pilot, but also secretive and broody.

He's on his way back to his quarters after having a drink by himself up on the roof when he catches sight of Poe, and he thinks it has to be more than coincidence that he's found the person he's been debating about talking to all night. Something had happened to Poe in between going missing on Jakku and reappearing in Takodana, and Abel had felt a shift in the man that he just could not ignore. A change that had something to do with the Force.

And there lies one of Abel's secrets: he's no stranger to the Force. ]
