It's not that he didn't like partying...

Okay, so he totally hated parties, but he was made to go to this one because of certain people telling him that he needed to loosen up, grab some fresh air, and go enjoy himself or be manhandled and taken forcibly to the party. Needless to say, he was there more or less against his will.

He was sticking close enough to the wall, far away from much of anything and only looking on as his friends were out there dancing to their heart's content. He sighed as he knew he couldn't really get into this 'spirit' just as easily as they could, but he decided to make the best of his situation and made his way toward the buffet table. He'd only grabbed some dessert when a certain someone caught his eye.

He only gave her a smile and a nod, unsure how to go about anything else. Perhaps she might like to talk, perhaps not. Okay, so this was perhaps him overthinking things as he usually does, but at least he knew that his body language was more on the positive side than anything else. Now it all depended on her.

[ Well here's a soul you wouldn't normally expect to drop in on these sort of festivities. He's usually behind the scenes somewhere...which is why no one here will likely recognize him.

Except for his charge, of course.

When Jack finds time to pull himself free of the fray, he'll be able to spot his family's hired gun in and amongst the crowd. He's not standing still long enough for anyone to make eye contact, to speak with him, to find cause to remember him. But Jack will know.
