Perhaps you are both ruthless fighters, or total pacifists, or some combination of power and a calming influence - an important mix, given that you can't lose your heads.

This complete degradation and mutual understanding have brought you together in a way no one else can understand. This bond is not platonic; romantic may not be the right word, not exactly, but you are closer to them than you've ever been with anyone else. It's a fire-forged relationship, made in the direst of times. To you, they are your world. And you've made a promise, to them and to yourself. You'll get them out of this alive.

[Planet Hulk/Ragnorak set up. Characters have been kidnapped to an alien world where the ruler uses obedience disks to force them to fight gladiator style in an arena. Win and the locals will shower you in glory and fame. Lose? Well, not all your limbs might be greeting the next sunrise. Or you might not be seeing any more sunrises period.

c. Gladiator and trainer/coach (local or also kidnapped to serve the ruler)
d. Gladiator and the headhunter who kidnapped them in the first place

Open to Nat being any of these. OTA, f/m, f/f, f/*. Canon and crosscanon are both great. Weird request, but if anyone has any sports series or school life canon teens and doesn't mind the age difference I'd love to bounce Nat off them in this scenario.
