hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. *It was becoming a real shame that every time they encountered one another, one of them ended up bleeding.

After the last time, they had to keep away from one another not because they, themselves, felt the need to, but because it was the right thing to do for one another as she healed and he did what he could to deny everything and continue about his own mission.

When she was finally able to get back to work it had been another few days until she had a night she could take off to wander around the small French town. Idly she wondered if he was alright with a constant memory of how comfortable she had felt with him the night they had to flee from one another. Her back still somewhat ached, not as bad as it had been but without her brace for her spine from her wings, her spine had a peppering of small scars. But she wore them with pride in their secrecy.

Every shadow caught her eye, made her wonder if it might have been him. Silently hopeful but also silently not wanting to get her hopes up. Block by block until she returned to her rented room in the medieval town. Just because she had to remain outside the cities and hide herself away didn't mean she couldn't treat herself to somewhere pretty.

It was a comfortable little room; lush bed with sofa and kitchen area. There were worse places to hide out until her next mission. She undid the scarf from her neck and collapsed down on the bed with a sigh.*
