[Claire Bennet, world famous Evo, had been receiving notes from someone anonymous. Someone anonymous and extremely suspicious. Notes and messages alluding to a great dark secret. Secrets present in the The Company of the old and the new. The experiments. The captives. The things her grandmother was involved in, the things her dad must have known about.

Because her and her dad weren't currently on speaking terms following her ferris wheel stunt, Claire didn't feel particularly moved to confront him directly just yet. This wasn't the first time someone had tried to turn her against her dad and it wouldn't be the last. The problem with that was that these days she didn't really need convincing that her dad would never really change. She loved her dad, but she couldn't trust him. No real turning needed.

Family issues aside, the biggest concern in recent weeks was that this mysterious stranger feeding her hints and information kept finding her. Claire knew she was being careful. After the last time someone got past layers of security, killing people to get to her, she knew she had to duck out of public life and hide for a while. Even Peter hadn't been able to find her after the last few moves, and she knew he'd been looking. Whoever this was either had powers like Molly did, or was especially powerful and clever. She had no reason to assume they meant her harm, as they'd had many opportunities to harm her, but she didn't particularly want to get involved with them either. So the messages had mostly gone ignored, unanswered.

Tonight when she arrived at her motel in New Orleans and found a folder on the bathroom counter, the petite young woman, still in disguise, froze at the sight of it. Part of her knew she should grab her go-bag and take off, but part of her also knew that there was something very important inside that envelope. Her curiosity won as her fingers found their way to the opening. It was filled with photographic proof of Evos being held hostage and being experimented on, and as her green eyes scanned the horrifying images, Claire Bennet finally let the reality of it all hit her. She sunk down to the cold tile floor, pulling her black wig off and not bothering to wipe away the silent tears that began to stream down her face. She had no choice now. She had to do something.

She had to go back out there again.

"I did warn you, didn't I?"

The voice startles her in a way that's familiar, and quick with instincts drilled into her psyche, Claire Bennet grabs a knife she'd stuck under the lip of the counter with duct tape the night before. She arms herself and looks to the doorway, ready to strike.]

So, Bruce doesn't work with Peter all the time. He still has Gotham, Peter still has New York. But sometimes he needs a partner for a case and while there are others he could call, he ends up calling Peter a lot instead. If Peter isn't available, then he can go to... Clark or Diana or whoever, but he has a. Preference. Maybe it's because they're dating but Bruce likes to think he's more objective than that.

(He's not.)

This case is a longer one, he thinks the al Ghuls are involved and while ideally, he wouldn't want Peter in an al Ghul case, the way he thinks has been useful in tracking down the artifact they're looking for. Which he... actually hasn't admitted that's what they're doing. He just kind of told Peter he's got a case he needs his help on and now they're in Budapest and being chased by ninjas. Across rooftops. There's a longer explanation than that but yeah, that's where they are now.

Bruce isn't in the batsuit, either. He's got his incognito travel gear on. Khakis. Henley. Scarf. Hat. Glasses. He's also holding a sword. Really! Things kind of got out of hand! The ninjas are what tipped him off to the al Ghul part, actually, and that's why he's kind of regretting dragging Peter along. So, as they're hopping from rooftop to rooftop, Bruce has to ask him --

"Are you doing okay?!"

And then the response is not really, the greatest, but Bruce realizes he kind of deserves this. Oh god, he has to explain so much later. Once they get out of this. Alive.

"I've got a plan."

But before he's able to explain, a ninja gets the jump on him and now the sword comes into play, since he uses it to brace himself against the guy before -- yeah, okay. Now he's sword fighting a ninja. On a rooftop. In Budapest. He really should've explained more about this to Peter before now.
