There is a first time for everything, after all, and they say you never forget your first.

First Kiss: Is there anything sweeter?

First Date: Are you super awkward and nervous or getting on like a house on fire?

[ He'd never expected to set foot in the Cloud Recesses again. Oh, perhaps at some point in the very, very distant future, perhaps as part of a discussion conference or something, but given how things ended, he'd expected a years-long ban at the very least. In any case, getting kicked out of that place was hardly punishment for beating up Jin ZiXuan. It was more like a reward, and fell strongly into the category of Worth It. He'd punch that dumb peacock's face again in a heartbeat.

But will wonders never cease: he's here again. Wherever "here" is...he's never been to this particular room before, a place called the Jingshi, though he had no idea what that name stands for. It looks like a combination study room/bedroom, austerely decorated and smelling faintly of sandalwood. On a low table is a jar of Emperor's Smile and two cups. And, nonsensically, a neatly coiled-up Lan clan forehead ribbon. He loses no time in pouring himself a cup of wine. He quickly tosses it back and pours himself another.

Lan XiChen had sent a letter, and then he'd come in person to Lotus Pier with his odd invitation. He'd been cagey about the reason: something about Lan WangJi wanting to tell him something. Fine, so why doesn't he send a letter or come to Lotus Pier himself? Why send his older brother as go-between? Besides, that cold white jade statue barely had two words for him when he was at the Cloud Recesses before, so why the desire to talk to him now? Everything about it was peculiar. In the end, what sold him on the visit was the opportunity to see Jiang Cheng, whom he missed more than he would ever admit, these past six months; and Lan XicChen's promise of twelve jars of Emperor's Smile to take back as a souvenir.

Time passes. Wei Wuxian is beginning to grow bored. He'd made the long trip, he's here now, so why keep him waiting? He drinks another cup of Emperor's Smile, and then in a slighly drunken fit of fidgety curiosity, reaches for the forehead ribbon and uncoils it. First he weaves it through his fingers. Then he wraps it around his wrist. Then, in a final failure of impulse control, he ties it around his own forehead. Incorrectly, of course. He positions it in a rakish slant, arranges the knot in the front, and twists it into a great big, loopy bow.

Perfect! Also, now he's a little drunk. Hic! And sleepy. Hey, time to lie down on this nice, comfy bed here, no one will mind. Right? ]
