Romantic Rescue

The person you love is in trouble! They could be in danger or perhaps even captured, but no matter what, no one can keep you away from them for long. Be careful, though, and don't lose your head and make foolish mistakes out of passion. Remember, your loved one will be counting on you, and that may include for more than just being saved. Rescuing is a long process. — OR — Your rescuer (or your rescued, as the case may be) isn't someone you've met before; they could be doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, for a mission, or even completely selfishly, as you'll be valuable to them. Still, they've come to free you from your prison or your most perilous of situations. While this is happening, it may be easy for emotions to run high...and feelings to burst from behind the scenes. As you ideally work together to get to safety and avoid getting caught while participating in deadly chases, you realize something problematic: you're falling for the person you've rescued or the person who rescued you. — OR — Somebody saved your hide from certain destruction - problem is, you have no idea who they are! In your mind, however, you've started to get all kinds of ideas about them. What are they like? Well, surely they have to be this way or that way. They're most likely a saint! Oh, it's as if your heart is aflutter when you think of them. You'll stop at nothing to find out where they are. But once you do, can the real them ever live up to what you imagined? Comment with your character and preferences. Mention if your character is more likely to be the rescuer or the rescued. Reply to others. Use one of the scenarios above or choose your own.

She’s not human, they’d repeat to themselves, she tests as human but she’s clearly not, and then they’d draw more blood to test again. Clarice was past the point of trying to fight them. Weakened by the constant blood draws and lack of food, she dozed, time and all its meaning slipping away from her. How long had it been since her ship crashed on this planet? Would they ever be looking for her? Who would even notice she was missing? She had once dreamed of belonging to the Jedi Order, had been part of the classes, had made her friends amongst padawans. But when she spun out of control, when everything shattered, when the fact that she was mutant and not just human had become too much, she’d left.
And would they miss her? Would they look for her?
The door opens. Clarice lifts her head up, to look at the hooded figure from her little ball in the corner of the cell. He’s all shadows, she can’t see his face, but the force says good.
”Are you here to save me?”

Prior to taking his leave from the Order, Jacen had dropped by to help train a few other young Jedi. It hadn’t been a long stint — it only made him think that there’s so much more he needs to know about the Force before he even has any right to be a teacher — and he’d left after several months to go on his sojourn into the unknown.

But he remembers Clarice. He doesn’t know her well, but he’s noticed her, at least enough to put a face to the name. He’d heard rumors that she’d gone missing, but he didn’t think much about it until he had a vision. Of her, stranded on some planet.

That’s how he ends up finding her on what looks initially like an abandoned military facility on an unnamed moon somewhere in the Unknown Regions.

As she calls out to him, he puts a finger to his lips, requesting her silence. But he moves quickly, coming up beside her to methodically remove her restraints.

It’s okay. I’m here to help, he says, but projecting his voice directly into her mind. But we need to be quiet. Can you stand?

It had been so long, since she had felt the presence of someone who not only would be kind to her, but who reached back out to her, who soothes her own quiet searchings in the Force with a returning touch. He is familiar to her, in the sense that all who are capable of working the Force are familiar for their own strength. Clarice’s hand flutters, as if with the desire to reach out and touch him, confirm that he’s there, prove that he’s real and not just another vision. Was he real? Was he another vision? Was he-
But he is more than a feeling, more than ansoght, he is words in her hand and a touch against her arm, the release of the metal restraints and the desperate sense that things were actually getting better. The sense that something was going right, for the first time since she was aware enough of how the Order treated the mutants amongst it. Clarice was aware that she was different and in need of help a long time before she had even been trapped on this planet.
He was here, and Clarice smiles.
She doesn’t bother trying to collect her thoughts enough to answer him, but she gathers her limbs up, straightens her legs, shifts with the tender steps of someone testing her own strength. Her hand finds the wall, leaning heavily on it, dependent on it to stay upright. It’s visible in her body, that although she stands, it is an effort to stay upright and to even move will be monumental effort.
Still, she takes a step forward, and grunts, nearly falling.

Pietro had no idea how it had happened or how long it had been but he knew it was HYDRA, purely from all the knowledge they had on him and what had made him the way he was.

It was all pointless; without the stone, they'd never be able to recreate what von Strucker had done to him and Wanda. But they were hellbent on trying and they weren't afraid to poke and prod at Pietro to do it.

He was in pain. Everything ached and he was fairly certain that if they kept trying to take blood, they'd drain him dry. And he was exhausted.

He has absolutely no idea what day it is when the commotion starts outside his room but when his door opens, Pietro flinches away, not even bothering to look up at whoever it is.

"What now?"

When Pietro didn't show up for lunch, Eddie had gotten worried. He had tried to reassure himself that maybe some Avenger stuff had come up at the last minute. Venom had then pointed out that Pietro would have called him to cancel if that was the case, and it wasn't like him to be late when his superpower was super speed.

They left the restaurant and went looking, going to the area Pietro said he'd have to stop at first before meeting Eddie. A witness told him that she'd seen some men in a van grab him and drive off with him, and pointed in the direction they'd gone.

In full reporter mode, Eddie managed to figure out the van's route, learning that it had driven out into the woods. The woods had only a single dirt road, and it was closed at the moment. Eddie followed it, until they came upon a building that looked seemingly abandoned.

Going inside had shown that it was very much occupied. Armed soldiers and men in lab coats. The symbol on the walls told Eddie all he needed to know. This was a HYDRA outpost.

Venom wanted to get violent, but Eddie convinced him that they needed to find Pietro first. Unfortunately, they only got as far as the next hallway before someone spotted them. They suited up, grabbed him and demand to know where Pietro was being kept. They knocked him out after he sang. It was just a matter of fighting their way to the prison cell block after that.

The guards outside Pietro's cell don't take long to dispatch. Venom withdraws back into Eddie's body as they enter the cell, seeing that Pietro's in bad shape.

"We're here to rescue you."

Pietro knows that voice and it reaches through the fog, prompting the speedster to open his eyes and blink up at his guest.

"Eddie?" Which meant that ruckus was Venom dispatching the guards outside. HYDRA would have loved that. Well, aside from the potential head-eating.

Sitting up, Pietro leans heavily against the wall and smiles. "It's good to see you."
