THE LIST! 01] baby Suddenly, there's a new addition to your family! Are you expecting? Adopting? Struggling to find the perfect name for your child? Or maybe you're up at a ridiculous hour in the morning because they're crying like crazy. 02] just married Congratulations! You and your loved (?) one are about to start a whole new life together! It's time for the honeymoon... 03] house hunting Are you seeking out an apartment? A dream house? Or just any old place, as long as you're with your other? Make sure to weigh your options very carefully... 04] household chores It's time to clean/cook/garden/take care of something! Do you work together, or does one of you hide until everything is done? 05] shopping Whether it's for furniture, groceries, or something in between, shopping is something that everybody must do at some point in time! What varies is if they like it or not. 06] family vacation WE'RE OFF TO DIDNEY WOOOOOOOOORL or wherever ... well, as long as the kids are happy, right...? You may not be happy (or maybe you are), but it's mainly about ~family bonding~. 07] romantic retreat It's you and your loved one's anniversary, and you decide it's time to take some time off and take them somewhere nice, where you only have each other. 08] comfort Is somebody sick in bed? Or perhaps they just had a bad day? Sometimes, a good breakfast in bed or a home-cooked meal can really lift the spirits! Or perhaps you want to try medicine, or laughter, or something else? 09] pet Suddenly, you have another addition to the family! Is it a puppy? A kitty? A fierce dragon? Whatever it is, make sure to give it a name and to take good care of it! 10] holiday Happy birthday/New Years/Christmas/Valentine's Day/whatever! It's a very special day that only comes once a year, so make it count! 11] argument Oh, no, who left the stove on... Or maybe it's about why they were out late last night? Either way, there is a lot of tension today, and one of you may or may not be sleeping on the couch tonight. 12] making up It's time to make amends for that fight/divorce/whatever you had before! After all, you love each other... right? 13] surprise, surprise You are feeling rather loving tonight, so you want to remind the other person how much you cherish and appreciate them... if it's by something cute and adorable or hot and sexy is completely up to you. 14] proposal SHUT UP THIS TOTALLY FITS You've been with your other for what feels like forever, and finally you want to tie the knot with them. Will you go down on one knee before them, or get a little creative? 15] other I know I'm forgetting like a bajillion and one different things here, so this is the option for that!

The reassurance was enough to have Isaac sagging in relief, a tension he hadn't noticed fading away. There's a breath that resembles a sob, but the Beta refuses to admit that it's because he wants to cry. "I can't decide now."

Darn it. See you soon.

Chris starts rubbing Isaac's back in soft circles. "Having raised a kid before, I can offer a lot of really good reasons to let someone else handle this one. A lot of really good reasons to keep it, too, but the thing is--this isn't an all-or-nothing decision."

"How isn't it all or nothing? We either keep it or we don't." His voice is a mumble against Chris' neck and he doesn't bother pulling away to make sure the older man could hear him properly. "You don't want it, do you?" The idea alone, that his baby's father didn't want it, made something in him shift and he suddenly felt nauseous.

Chris didn't answer for a long moment. He couldn't lie to Isaac; aside from the ethical problems with lying to his lover, Isaac would know.

"I don't think now is the time," he said finally. "I don't think we're in a place in our relationship where we could bring a kid into it. I'm worried about you if we do this, Isaac. Listen. We know this can happen now. If we decide not to now, we can try later, when we're ready. That's what I mean by it not being all-or-nothing."

Isaac stays silent for a long moment. There's the tell-tale stinging in his eyes that can't be mistaken for anything but the tears they are, but he doesn't let himself cry. "I don't know if I can carry it and then give it up. I don't know what to do." His grip tightens on Chris' back and he let's out another pained sound.

Chris's heart twists at that sound. He presses a kiss to the top of Isaac's head. "We'll figure it out. We don't have to decide right now."

"We won't have long to decide." Not if they decided to terminate. Isaac knew that the second he heard the heartbeat would be the moment he could no longer even consider that as an option.

[dargent]

"Not long still isn't right now." Chris stood and reached down to pull Isaac to his feet. "Meantime, you need to eat something--not just because you've been throwing it all up."

Isaac's numb as he lets the hunter pull him to his feet and he stumbles forward into him, squeezing his hands tightly. "'Kay."

Chris pulls Isaac close for another long moment, pressing another kiss to his temple, before leading him downstairs.

Isaac leans into the contact, and let's Chris lead him down the stairs. "I'm not hungry."

"Well, I am. So humor me, will you?" He's not, but the food will be good for both of them. "What do you want?"

Isaac nods, moving to sit on the bench beside the sink; his stomach had rolled violently when the smell of food hit his nose. "Not meat."

[dargent]

"That's something I never thought I'd hear you say," Chris laughed. It was also disappointing; he himself rarely made anything but. "How about those Indian leftovers?"

"I can smell the meat in the fridge. It's making me nauseous." While the explanation wasn't needed, he felt like he owed it and he ducked his head. "Something bland, for me, maybe? I don't think I'm done being sick."

[dargent]

"Bland, I can do. Ask Al--anyone." Chris tries to make a joke out of it as he digs in the fridge for jam.

Isaac smiles softly, watching him move around the kitchen. "I hope you only mean when it comes to food."

[dargent]

"Funny," Chris says drily. "Yes, I mean food."

[firsttofreedom]

"Certainly not bland in the bedroom." It's a soft mumble under his breath, eyes resting on his lap.

[dargent]

"Well, I've never had any complaints." Yes, he heard that.

He ducks his head, blushing after being caught. "Keep going the way you're going and there won't be."

[dargent]

"I'll remember that. Though if this pregnancy thing is more than a freak accident, I might have to readjust some things." Chris barely stumbles over the word, which makes him feel more proud than it should.

The mention of their situation makes Isaac cough and he sighs, shifting awkwardly. "If we go through with it we'll have to adjust a few things."

[dargent]

"'If'?" Chris raises an eyebrow, spreading peanut butter and jam on white bread. "A few minutes ago you didn't think there was any option but to go through with it."

[firsttofreedom]

Flinching slightly, Isaac sighs. "Honestly? I have no clue what to think. We both know I'm not ready for this. We both know you're not ready for this. I know I can't get rid of it. I have huge doubts that I can give it up later. At this point, I don't know what my options even are." A huge part of him wished that Chris would make the choice for him, but he knew that wasn't possible.
