The Soulmate Meme

A soulmate (or soul mate) is believed by some to be the person with whom one has a feeling of deep or natural affinity, similarity, love, sex, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, or compatibility. In our world, the concept of soulmates is quaint, but frankly antiquidated. But somewhere out there, in the vast cosmos, there is a world that still values this tradition. No, not just values. Society is practically built around it. After all, they've found the powers of the soulmates. When they're together, both halves of the whole can find a peace that is desired by all; not only that, either, but also the two can unlock the. Everyone is believed to have a soulmate, and those who have yet to find there's a sense of emptiness that cannot be filled by other distractions. There are few limits on who can be destined for each other. The fates have often chosen people completely opposite of each other, some even on opposing sides or factions. Attraction between soulmates is instantaneous upon the first meeting, though relationship styles can very. It's almost always romantic, but sometimes not sexual, despite that usually being the case. Some even say that procreation can only be done by soulmates, but that's only a rumor and highly untested. Yet this bond is not always sunlight and rainbows. You'll practically feel each other emotions The problem, of course, comes in finding one (if you even want to at all, as some rebel against the system as much as they can). How many people are out there, and what's the probability of finding them in a lifetime? What if they're not in the same country or even the same planet! There's also the dilemma of having only one soulmate. Though people can have plenty of lovers, those in this world can only find true satisfaction from their other half. It's a twisted and difficult web, and sometimes unmatched people can face prejudice from those around them and the established order, but finding that one special person is said to trump all of that. HOW TO PLAY: 1. Comment with your character 2. Reply around, using whatever option you want OR the RNG. 3. Play out some threads. Be soulmates, friends, other lovers, etc.

So his boss had sent him off to England's house to try and broker a new alliance between them. He had to admit, despite England's attitude he had always found that he had better luck in war when allied with England.

He knew it was England's Navy that gave them the edge. England's navy ruled the seas and his land army could rule where ever they went. Together he was certain they could literally rule the world, if only he could convince his boss of that.

Celestial Being had an 'understanding' with the AEUG. And that was how one Lieutenant Quattro Bajeena (not Char) found himself on-board Ptolemaios when Team Trinity chose to make their visit. Something about those three felt...different, and Quattro hadn't survived as long as he had by ignoring his instincts.

Originally, the plan had been to let Celestial Being take the lead. He was content to hang back from the crowd and watch, his arms folded over his chest as he floated against the back wall. Then the airlock cycled open, and he was momentarily glad that his sunglasses kept anyone from seeing his eyes widen in surprise.

A very familiar feeling swept over Quattro as he saw the youngest Trinity. It was a warmth that, if he was honest with himself, wasn't entirely unwelcome. She did look awfully young, though.

[Martha Jones just looked over the field, her hands tightly pressed together, her breathing slow and deep. Grounding, it was all about grounding in situations like this, attempting to find a place of peace and letting things be nothing more than what they were. Sometimes, she was bad at that; Martha could hold onto things so tightly that it didn't account for anything else.

Right now, she was in that sort of place. Thinking about anything other than simply getting from point A to point B in time to meet the next rendezvous was simply not something that she could do. There wasn't time for it, and if she took her eyes off anything other than what was ahead, it would only end badly.

But that didn't explain why she found her eyes drawn to the man on her left all too often. Martha couldn't explain why they were but she found herself looking at him all too often. More than that, she found herself feeling a bit safe with him. Even a bit of safety was an unspeakable luxury in times like this.]

[When he'd been a kid, the soulmate tag tournaments had been a cute idea. Nothing he'd get to play in, sure, because even if he'd ever found a soulmate, the tournaments were always held in the city and no Satellite kid'd ever get to play them.

When he'd gotten older, the whole idea of soulmates had been something he'd scoffed at. He was Crow the Bullet-sama, what did he need with someone tying him down like that? A soulmate'd just try to hold him down and clip his wings, and so even if Crow ever met his soulmate he had no plans to even acknowledge them, let alone start getting involved in the stupid tag tournaments.

When he'd met Brave... okay. He might have been forced to eat his words a little. He'd never expected someone so perfect, even with what he'd always been told about soulmates. And a duelist, too (though in retrospect, nobody could ever have been his soulmate and not duel, could they). It had been Crow who'd suggested they enter the tournament, when there'd been the announcement for it.

And so here they are, in the dressing rooms and with Crow trying to distract himself from staring at Brave getting changed for long enough to deal with his own clothes. ...talking will help, right? Talking will distract him from the urge to forget about the tournament and just jump Brave.

(in hindsight, maybe they should have waited until things weren't quite so on fire before actually entering something like this).]
