hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. [To be honest, Keith had been pensive and agitated at the prospect of Shiro and Adam meeting up again once they got back to Earth. Logically, he knew it had been over for years, and in his heart he knows Shiro loves him more than anyone. Hell, they'd gotten married on a small planet during the journey home, there's no way he was gonna doubt Shiro.

But in the back of his mind he'd worried Adam would want to reconcile. A stupid worry, one he kind of hated himself for, but it was there.

That silly, irrational, insecure worry evaporated upon discovering Adam himself had died when the Galra invaded Earth. He'd found out from James, of all people, Adam was one of the first sent into combat and hadn't made it.

Now, Keith just feels incredibly sad. Sad for a guy sent to his death, sad for his family who's gonna have to live with the loss.

For Shiro most of all. Shiro, who'd once loved this man and would never gain closure over the way they left things. Who'd never have a chance to rekindle a friendship with someone he'd cared for so deeply.

Keith slowly walks into their shared room at the garrison, his heart heavy. From Shiro's expression, he doesn't even need to ask if he's heard.]
