[It probably will cause no problems at all that Elphelt has trouble understanding Fran and Fran doesn't realize that Elphelt's view on being a bride is perhaps not standard.]

[Fran nods. She thinks she's heard that phrase somewhere (maybe from Medb), but she didn't understand it at the time. ...Actually, she still doesn't understand it now.]

Uhhh uuuu uu ahhh?

[Does combat really come into it? To try to convey the question, she temporarily sets the head of her mace down and leans it against her so her hands are free to form a heart, before picking it back up and swinging it it down violently at an empty patch of ground, before looking back at Elphelt with another headtilt.]

[Elphelt somehow knew she would have a strong connection with Fran. It's like a sixth sense. That and there aren't any other women walking around in wedding gowns for no reason whatsoever.]

That's right! A modern woman is all about action. Sometimes you need to fight for love, you know?

[She pulls a pair of pink pistols from the bouquet at her hip and spins on her heel.]

I can tell you're trying to become a bride, just like I am, so out of camaraderie, I give you...a ten! I'm not sure what we're supposed to be judging anymore.

[Look, it'll save time if they find someone to marry out of the misguided notion that it's something that will make them normal girls. Fran nods at the first part, looking a little contemplative. This person looks like they know more about love than she does. After all, she's dressed for it (Fran, you're also in a wedding dress).] Ahh.

[At the second part, she smiles a little and .] Uu! [She's happy to be given a ten, even if it's out of just a sense of camaraderie. It's nice to have someone who feels you are similar. She's not sure why this woman seems confused about what she was supposed to be judging. Fran had shown a chest, unlike most people she'd seen.

The other woman doesn't seem to have any chests on her (Fran is the only one on this meme who would think that), so Fran can't return the rating, but those pistols are pretty cute. Pink is a pretty colour. How to express that...she sets her mace down for a moment, points at the pistols, and makes a...that's probably a heart with her hands? She's never actually done it before, so it's closer to a lumpy circle. She tries to convey it through tone, though.] Uuuu, uungh.

--Huh?

[The sentiment is clear. That isn't what surprises her. She doesn't get people complimenting her firearms, is all...not that she exactly walks around with them in the open enough for it to come up or anything.]

Oh! You like Nougat? She's cute, isn't she?

[She twirls her pistols around her finger. Her weapons are not pink by chance. Making them cute is entirely on her and completely her doing. So, it is nice to have them acknowledged--even if she may be jumping to conclusions. She doesn't know why else Fran would be pointing them out!

And she is pretty sure that is a heart.]

I'm sure the feeling in mutual, heehee.

[Being a pistol and all, Nougat probably does not care about how cute Fran is, even if she is. And she is! Elphelt cannot let this opportunity pass her by.]

Um...I'm not usually this forward, but--! Would you like to be friends?

[With how her heart is pounding, you would think she just asked Fran to marry her, not just be friends.]

[A pistol is not the strangest thing Fran has thought was cute before, given she's thought intestines were pretty before. She nods to confirm Elphelt's conclusion that she agrees the gun is cute. ...She wouldn't have expected the gun to be called Nougat or she, but it does seem to fit the pink part.

She misinterprets the feeling being mutual and glances at her mace. Is Elphelt saying her mace is cute? .........Fran doesn't see it but she does think of it faster than the idea that someone might be saying she's cute.

She looks back up at the request for friendship, though, looking a little surprised. Even if in FGO route she's made a lot more friends (and several dads), she's still a little surprised whenever someone new wants to spend time with her. She points to herself.]

Uhhh?

[From the tone and the pointing to herself, it's probably intended as a "you want to be friends with me?" As though she expects there was someone else in the room and Elphelt accidentally asked the wrong person. ~Non-human self-esteem issues~]

[Elphelt does not consider for a moment there is anything lost in translation. After all, it is plainly obvious Fran is cute. Elphelt goes so far as to think Fran pulls off the bride look better.

Unfortunately for her, something else gets lost in the language barrier. With her own self esteem issues, she can only assume Fran's dubious response is because, well...why would Fran want to be friends with her? It was an awfully forward question.]

I-I'm sorry! I like making friends and thought maybe we have a lot in common so we could get along and...

[Her arms flail around. She is so embarrassed.]

I'm sorry.

[Fran is initially confused by the sudden freak out, but by the second apology, the misunderstanding clicks in Fran's head. She doesn't understand why someone as pretty as Elphelt would have any kind of self-confidence issues, but that is what it looks like.

She shakes her head firmly, which is intended as a response to the "I'm sorry" but probably is going to get further misinterpreted at this rate.]

Uhhhn.

[She reaches out to grab Elphelt's flailing arms by the wrists. If successful, she is going to hold both of their hands down in between them — almost like she was grabbing Elphelt's hands supportively, except slightly off due to grabbing the wrists instead. She stares Elphelt straight in the eyes, or so much as she can through her bangs. She looks serious as, with some effort, she speaks for the first time in this conversation.]

[She nods firmly.]
