The world was ending. Oh, the world was ending in some amount of days, probably, but it was also ending in closer to that. The end felt like a solid wall that Grace Barrows could reach out and touch, reach out and hold, and that could reach in and smother around her if she let it. The key to all of this really was not to let it. But the world didn't end yet, and that was the point of this. Darius was good about changing the ambiance when he wanted to, and that was the reason that the two of them were out here on this boat in the freezing water. It had been his idea, because let's face it, everything was his idea, but she had said yes because she wanted too. The break from the insanity was needed, and more than that the reminded of humanity was needed.

Grace was fighting for Darius, She was fighting for Zoe, and she was fighting for the other couples who were there lighting off lamps that everything would work out in the end. The lamps were wishes, and the lamps were prayers, and all of them were needed, even if Grace didn't actually know if she believed in anything with any sort of omniscient sight. What she believed in was a who, and he just happened to be sitting next to her as she held the paper lantern between two hands, letting the soft and subtle glow move over her face.

"You know," her voice was soft and low, even though they were far enough away from the other boats not to be heard. "I don't remember them being this beautiful." The light in her hands and the others in the sky and the whole experience of the entire thing.

[yeah this is pretty neat and beautiful but also here's hoping you happen to weigh around 290lbs at least because otherwise this end of the boat sure is tipping into the water kind of a lot and he may or may not be lowkey rhetorically sweating nervously about it.

For some, they were lamps for their own doubts flying away into the unknown to others the hope of the future growing into something worthy of their ambitions. This day was the biggest of what beauty can bring with the right events at play

"Arendelle... Such a lovely kingdom." The voice said with praise genuine to the word. The air cold as the winder yet gentle enough to withstand it breezed around his youthful expression. Ice colored eyes scanned the garden that he had found himself in. The garden living with multiple flowers, fruits, vegetables, and countless plants around the area, setting its own atmosphere as a sign of the prosperity of the place. It was clear from the very beginning why the individual enjoyed coming to the country every time on important matters.

Now, Charlemagne was simply there as a visitor, an observant of the eventful night that was famous on many other kingdoms nearby. All with their own feel, and look of the night. However, this one stuck out the most due to the cool feel of the kingdom. At first, he would be surprised about who was in charge after the former king passed on during a travel. But it didn't stop it from becoming more clear with the large moon shining above the sky among the rest of the flying lights.
