Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth. Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy. Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised? How to Play 1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference. 2. Comment to others. 3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you.

( it never matters where they're going, whatever sort of thing takes him away from his post at any given time — he's nearly always late, or just short of it, because he maintains the proclivity for procrastination that one might expect of someone half his age with a list of chores as long as his arm.

it isn't that he doesn't take pride in his duties, his obligations, but listen. he's tired a lot of the time because someone ( who shall remain nameless ) never allows him more than a few minutes' nap when he really should be going over paperwork that has been sitting at the corner of his desk for going on two weeks now. and. he really can stall with the best of them, all things considered.

( this is also taking one ( 1 ) edward elric into consideration, with whom he's gone toe to toe more times than he can count on both hands and both feet, and wouldn't you know, that's really saying something. )

none of this is really important in the face of the fact that roy mustang is currently taking his time in a shower; his lieutenant is ( supposedly ) waiting just outside, making sure they have everything prepared for a trip to the — east, is it? he'll have to check his notes again — and he knows they have plenty of time, which is only one of the handful of reasons he's being leisurely about it. his shoulders are tight. the hot water helps.

when he steps out he has a towel draped over those aforementioned shoulders and a clean pair of uniform slacks hung low on his hips, one dark brow quirked upward as he regards where she's sitting, prim and proper as ever, even when it's just the two of them. ) You look comfy. ( he muses, simultaneously ruffling his still-damp hair.

[ Riza, as ever, has her hands full with Roy. She respects and admires him. She's promised to follow him to the end and to never abandon him. She promised to be his conscience in the times when his own fails. Yet somehow he never quite seems to take things (like all the small bits of paperwork rising to the top of a nation like Amestria) seriously. So here she is, practically minding him. She sits in her usual ramrod straight fashion legs crossed as she waits for the colonel to finally get his ass out of the shower. When Roy finally does make an appearance, her gaze slides over to him and lingers for a moment.

It's not like she hasn't seen him like this before, of course. They are intimates in many ways (except, perhaps in the way that they both want the most) and seeing the colonel without a shirt isn't necessarily abnormal. ]

As comfortable as I can be.

[ Connor as the bodyguard, either literally created to protect the other character, or purchased for that task after the fact. Regardless, he doesn't get tired, doesn't need to eat or drink, and androids (supposedly) have no emotions, so he's the ideal choice for a disposable bodyguard...right?

Incredibly open to cross-canon/OCs, any gender, no gender, bad credit, no credit, no problem, we'll make the sale (???). If you're unfamiliar w canon, I can hit you up with more background deets. Happy to hear variations on the basic setting/premise, too (and happy to stick with gen if that's preferred).]

(( I am just learning about Detroit canon and curious to compare androids. How about about a variant where Clear here is some eccentric's pet project (and probably v illegal) android, and Connor is purchased both for comparison to the most advanced Cyberlife model and a "keep Clear safe and don't blow his cover OR let him blow his own cover" directive? More of a babysitting job than something terribly high stakes, an experiment to see which android adapts more to the other. Ship or gen would be up to development/chemistry. Would that interest you? ))

That's the last thing the non-branded android had heard, six hours ago. It's what the older detective, Anderson, had told him. Just try not to think about it.

There's nothing else Lucky has been able to do, not since he voluntarily connected to the android assisting in the case. Lucky hadn't been able to make sense of his fragmented memories, but the other android stood a better chance. It had been strange and uncomfortable, having something else navigate and pry open his locked-down memory, and he remembered...things that he wishes he didn't have to. How can he not think about those things? All those horrible things?

But the android that had accessed his memory... Lucky sits here in the holding cell of the police department and wonders how he could have looked at him like that. Alarm, realization...but no judgement.

Lucky stares down at his right hand, palm up, and he feels reverent. He's never let someone else in like that. He doesn't know if it will help him achieve immunity to charges for a crime he committed unwittingly, and had since completely purged from his forefront memory, or if the android officer now had something more to implicate him... Lucky doesn't quite understand how this all works.

Just try not to think about it, when this is now every inch and pixel of Lucky's reality now. Though he is sure the human detective did mean well when he said it.

...Connor. That was the android's name. It's been difficult to sort and store all of the information in his processor program for intaking new information; it's been a lot of new information all virtually immediately queued. It's taking more time to synthesize and store everything, many of these processes inexplicably stalled. Plus the 'emotional shock' that Connor referenced -- Lucky thinks that makes some sense, even if he doesn't fully understand his emotions still.

He feels himself falling into another revolution of this fretful spiral before he senses movement in his leftmost periphery; he looks up through the bulletproof glass and spots the android approaching, glancing in at him first through the transparent wall. Lucky watches him back, watches Connor trigger the door to unlock, open, and he steps inside.

Lucky doesn't know what to say. All he can do is stare, dumbly, guiltily, waiting for the hammer to fall.

[Moving around sticks in his craw, unpleasant, unwanted, and frustration-inducing. He goes as far as the train will take him that he thinks is far enough - just enough for his stomach to stop churning a little bit. The feeling doesn't pass entirely like he hopes. Something else still doesn't feel right.

[Still, he asks around among the locals about weather patterns, not at all minding the blunt ways many of them speak. His coil, an old model, finally updates enough that he can gather the general highs and lows expected for the rest of the day and tonight.

[Huh. So it's like a desert at night. Good to know; he doesn't quite have a jacket thick enough for it. Funds are tight, though, so he'll have to settle for only moving around during the day.

[It's while he's ogling about like a tourist when he notices someone else - tall, gorgeous dark hair, pretty beads on his wrist, and the most adorably-colored cockatoo he's ever seen.

[So, naturally, time to approach. It's only when he gets really close that he realizes that the bird's an allmate. Damn, so many people have them. Is it really in style these days?]
