It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm with an endless downpour. Time to quickly find cover! Nothing much to do but to wait it out. Where is the rain happening? SCENARIOS i WHERE: 001 PLAYGROUND | Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun? 002 PARK | Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you. 003 STORE FRONT | Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of. 004 BEACH | Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm. 005 FOREST | Mud, bugs and all the rambler's paths are washed away so you don't know how to get out. 006 SKY | On a plane? A pegasus? You were there when the first drop fell. 007 EMPTY CITY | Maybe it was a zombie apocalypse or WW3. It's safer outside when all the nasties take refuge indoors. 008 AT SEA | Nothing is worse than an unexpected freak storm here. Except sea monsters. 009 TEMPLE | It's beautiful, but leaky. 010 WILD CARD | Your call. ii HOW: 001 TREE | Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet. 002 UMBRELLA | Most conventional... Horatio's in a mood again.

Horatio's in a mood again, and Archie can't get him out of his own head long enough to figure out if it's because of the Navy or his own emotional state, and he is tired.

He loves Horatio Hornblower more than anything in the world. Loving Horatio Hornblower is also, unfortunately, one of the most exhausting things in the world. Archie Kennedy would give everything in him and for him.

It's just that sometimes, that everything isn't enough, or at least isn't quite right.

He doesn't storm off from Horatio. He makes sure he gets it sorted with the innkeeper that someone will at least bring food to the man, even if they can't make sure he eats. He even risks brushing a kiss against Horatio's hair even if it all it might end up doing is making the man more prickly.

But then he does leave. He goes to take a walk, take a breath; try to find some kind of calm in himself so his hands stop shaking. He doesn't bother paying attention to the incoming clouds.

When the downpour comes, he finds himself quite drenched. Finds himself ducking under a tree to try to find some sort of shelter as he decides what to do. He doesn't want to head back to the room just yet, but he can't stay out in this.

And then, like an answer to a prayer, he sees a familiar face cutting through the crowd.

He knows he'll just get even more soaked if he joins the Redcoat to walk wherever he's going, but at least he might be headed somewhere warm.

He comes up to her, a shadowy mass of muscle and bone, a dog leash in one hand and a black umbrella in the other. She's actually in his way, loitering outside the door to his apartment building while young men with nothing better to do on a Tuesday night side eye her, pass lewd comments between themselves and laugh. Frank can't tell if that's her just got fucked hair or if she's been standing out in the rain that long that it's gone all frazzled like that.

Even as he actively tries to blot out some of the memories he remembers the little details, about the way long hair gets frazzled in the rain like that when he whips his head around to the sound of her heels clicking on their porch, sees her coming through the door, and the tension that builds in his shoulders expecting a threat dissolves with his sigh as he falls in love with his wife again.

He shelters his not-wife for all of two seconds and opens the door for her to let her in. They pass a not-quiet-enough joke about how much he's paying her. He glares. Everything falls quiet.

Up the stairs. Clonk, clonk, clonk. Quick pitter-patter of dog paws bounding up. Tail thumping on the floor waiting impatiently for Frank's jingle of keys to open up to his place.

Frank doesn't say anything until he locks the door behind them and unleashes Max, letting him loose in the apartment while he goes to fetch a towel for Elektra. The first question isn't about where she's come from. What she's done. Why she came. He doesn't give a shit about whether she smells like lawyer or whether she smells like the blood of her enemies. He only cares about what she needs.

See now, I told you it was gonna rain and we shouldn't dilly-dally here too unprepared for the oncoming storm but for whatever forsaken reason here we still are, blundering about without much of a cause--

[ It's easy sometimes for Shiro to forget just how much time he's spent in space, and just how much of an impact that's made on him from where he'd started on Earth. The Atlas is a marvel, but it's also the new home for the lions, and that means that for as much time as they can spend planetside— they also have a commitment to Voltron to be with it where ever it needs to go.

Not everyone is ready for that, he doesn't think. After what happened with the Galra on Earth, he doesn't blame a good chunk of the crew for wanting to stay behind and make sure things go smoothly. It took some time, to reorganize, to make sure the people in charge would make the right decisions for everyone— but humanity was nothing if not determined. With all the back up from every other race left in the Coalition, Shiro felt comfortable and positive enough to announce they'd be leaving with Voltron to check on and liberate other planets that fell prey to the Empire while they were gone.

This is how they end up caught in the rain on Delta Eridani.

Shiro sprints, Griffin hot on his heels, as the rain chases them down. Their suits protect them from the worst of it, but the amount of precipitation that can come down in a short period of time means being on the ground can be dangerous. Flash floods were common, and if they didn't get to a higher area fast it could spell trouble. Shiro skids to a stop and turns, putting both his hands together, ready to boost Griffin up over the rocky ledge that will lead them to the trees. ]
