THE DATE MEME

Here's how it works!

1. Comment to this post with your character. List the character's name, series, and any preferences you might have in the subject.
2. Using the RNG, pick from one of each of the two categories below. (Or if you'd rather pick them yourself, feel free to do that instead!)
3. The two of you are now on a date! The first list is where you took your date. The second list is your current relationship.

Locations

1. Restaurant. What better way to spend some romantic time than over food? Maybe you're at the fancy restaurant in town, or maybe you just couldn't afford anything nice, so you're at the nearest diner. Or maybe somewhere in between?

2. Games. The two of you are playing a game somewhere! You could be at a bowling alley, an arcade, a miniature golf course...the possibilities here are countless.

3. The Park. Of course, Mother Nature can provide an excellent atmosphere for romantic bonding! Perhaps you're taking a leisurely stroll through the lush grounds, or maybe you've laid out a blanket somewhere so the two of you could have a picnic.

4. Movie Theater. Or maybe the two of you are sitting next to each other in a dark room, sharing a bucket of popcorn while you're watching the latest film. Did you opt for a horror flick to keep your significant other latched to your arm -- or for you to latch to theirs -- or perhaps something they enjoy, like a sappy romance film or a cheesy action flick? Or maybe you compromised and went to see a sweet romantic comedy.

5. Skating. It's always nice to go skating, right? Are you at a roller skating rink, or did you find a frozen lake and decide to go ice skating? Which one of you needs help (you know at least one of you does)?

6. Beach. Ahh, the beach! Go ahead and set up camp wherever you like! Or if you don't watn to lay down and catch a tan, you can go swimming, or take a walk along the shore! Or if you don't want getting sand on your feet or in your shoes, go hit up the boardwalk!

7. Sunday Drive. Sometimes you don't really have a destination in mind. Sometimes you just want to drive and enjoy the scenery. Well, here's your chance to do that!

8. Amusement Park. There's plenty to do here! Take your date on the Ferris wheel, or the tunnel of love...or something more thrilling, like a roller coaster! Walk around with cotton candy!

9. Dance/Ball. School dance? Prom? Business gala? Whatever it is, you're there, and you've got a date.

10. Wild Card. Your choice! Feel free to pick something that's not here.

Relationships

1. Blind Date. You had no idea who you were going out with until you arrived! Was it a complete stranger, or did it turn out to be someone you knew?

2. First Date. You finally worked up the courage to ask this person out, and they agreed! How awkward is this going to end up?

4. Proposing. This isn't just any date for you. You've brought your significant other out somewhere to propose to them! Make sure to warm them up for the main event!

When you say it like that, I actually kinda want to... ah, that's no good! Can't I say something romantic without it being stupid, too?

Probably . . . but I wouldn't worry about it too much. The romantic part is what's important. I mean . . . y-you get me all flustered either way . . .

That's... well, I'd still like to get you flustered without feeling so cheesy, you know? [SPEAKING of flustered, they're finally at Megumi's place, and after a little bit of fumbling with the key in her pocket she remembers why she invited Hikaru over.]

Ah... [Yeah. She's bright red, but she gets the key in the door eventually.] Uhm. [Yeaaahhh...]

*Hikaru had been in the midst of thinking of a reply for that, but stepping into Megumi's place kind of kills it. She's been here before, but always when other people were around. Being alone with Megumi in her house . . . and yeah, for Reasons . . . a-aaah, even after what happened at Ibiza, she can't calm down!*

A-Ah. Well.

Do... do you want something to eat, first? ['First' makes her blush, when she realizes that she just said that. Yeah... first. Before they...]

Oh, and it was kind of hot out, so if you want to take a bath or something... [And Megumi thinks about it for a second, and then, as usual, blurts something out once it pops into her head.]

This is starting to sound like the routine wives give their husbands.

*pffft* Yeah, I was gonna say . . .

*Squeezes Megumi's hand* But, ah . . . I'm okay.

I guess that settles which one of us has to wear the tux. [And she squeezes back, fidgeting awkwardly for a second.]

I'm not not really sure... where we should start. You know what I mean?

*Deadpan* Well, we probably shouldn't start until we're in your room. Just in case.

*But then she smiles shyly again, nodding.* But . . . yeah. Last time I felt really forward and just went with the flow . . .

I was the same way, so don't worry. [This is the... well, the first time could have just been a fluke or the passion of the moment or something, but doesn't this mean they're gonna start having sex regularly?

... She isn't sure she can handle that thought.]

Uhm, you remember where my room is, right? Right this way...

Y-Yeah . . . *Hikaru is slightly surprised to find herself also having a little trouble handling that thought. She'd sort of fallen into the assumption that that first time was the milestone, the icebreaker, and that any times after that would . . . well, be easier! But here she is, on her way up to her girlfriend's room, and she's just as nervous. Maybe even more nervous!*

[Hikaru's the same way about that, too. The first time had just been the heat of the moment. That porn video, Hikaru looking so... kissable, she guessed, and than they were all over each other and yeah.

This wasn't really the same way. They had just decided to have sex. Now they were about to have sex.]

Hey, uh... neither of us has any idea what we're doing, so don't worry about screwing up, okay? [And yes, there's a brief moment where she forgets how doorknobs work as she tries to open the door to her room.]

Y-Yeah . . . you too. *Not exactly the most poetic, but then again, hadn't she just said "let's do it" last time? Note to self: work on pillow talk.*

*She tacks on a second note to self as Megumi finally gets the doorknob open: don't start hyperventilating.*

[Megumi probably needed those same mental notes. Seriously, 'don't worry about screwing up?' That wasn't going to make Hikaru worry any less.

The door's open, so she just kind of... takes one awkward step in, then looks back at Hikaru, both of them obviously flushed and nervous. She can't really help herself - she kisses Hikaru, quickly to keep herself from, y'know, moving her hands and stuff.]

... You're way too pretty. It's kind of unfair. [And then she practically drags Hikaru into the room and shuts the door behind them.]

*Hikaru slips her arms around Megumi the second the door's closed behind them. She's still nervous--she's sure Megumi can hear her heart pounding--but it's starting to be a good nervous, at least a little. Being alone with Megumi like this feels nice. It feels right.*

Spoken like someone who doesn't realize how pretty she is . . .

... You're supposed to say 'you're prettier,' not 'you're pretty too.'

[But hearing Hikaru say that still makes her feel wonderful. She returns the embrace, unable to hear Hikaru's heart over her own pounding in her ears.]

Where do I start... [It's not even a rhetorical question. Megumi looks confused for a good moment or so, then finally decides to start kissing at Hikaru's neck. Right away it's pretty obvious she's going to leave marks. Again.]

I thought that was implied!

*She laughs, tilting her head a bit to bare her neck.* That's a pretty good start . . . haha, more badges of honor to show off ♥ *Yeah, yeah, secret relationship, whatever--that all sort of flies out of Hikaru's head when it comes to showing off her hickies.*

Not when you're you. [Flawless logic courtesy of Megumi Hoshino. To be honest, the 'secret relationship' thing is just as lost on her now that she's started. Especially after hearing Hikaru call them badges of honor. She's not really possessive of Hikaru, or anything, but... it feels really nice, to leave a mark. Hikaru will go back home, look at it in the mirror, and think of her. ]

Saying it like that makes me want to give you more, you know.
