Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention. And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth. Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy. Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised? How to Play 1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference. 2. Comment to others. 3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you.

The rest of the Nien are relaxing during this two week break, before they head out next as a group. Beau, however, is restless and can't sit still for more than two seconds, which means it's only three days before she's out looking at the job board for easy, short missions. The one she'd picked had mentioned protecting some maiden on her journey to the next town over, so like - three days, max, maybe less if they didn't run into bad weather. And Beau's always up for escorting ladies where they need to go, so. Of course she takes it.

The pay seemed kind of high, though, for a job this simple. And now she's seeing why, as Harlon, a halfling man who had put the job listing up in the first place, presents her with her cargo. ]

Aw, what the fuck! [ Beau says loudly, earning herself a shh from Harlon. ] Who the fuck is she? Tell me she's not the cargo.

[ Ah. A response Lioriley completely expected and yet still looks upset to hear. A drow on the surface is strange and alarming to most though, and she could count on one hand those that did not react immediately with violence or disdain. Oh well, she is still going to try and alleviate any concerns this woman might have; and she hopes her small and seemingly fragile stature will help. ]

My name is Lioriley. [ She answers with a smile and a slight bow of her head. ] A traveler in dire need of assistance. As you can imagine, my people are not welcomed in most civilized areas without some form of ... [ a pause. she cringes. ] complication. I had hoped a suitable escort would be able and willing to take me to the next town without issue.

As I am sure you are aware, you will be paid handsomely for your services. And all I require is to arrive alive and unhindered to my destination. If you do not wish to interact with me for the duration, I will take no offense.

[ Ugh. And she's nice, which is really weird. There has to be some sort of catch. The last dark elf they ran into tried to murder the whole Mighty Nein and almost succeeded. Beau is pretty sure the dark elves destroyed part of Zadash, too, and... it's just, a nice dark elf doesn't compute. ]

Where were you going again? [ Beau asks for a moment, reluctantly. ] And why are you going wherever you're going? I didn't think you people liked it up here. Dark... dark elves, I mean, not like - you people in a... you get what I mean.

[ She gets that a lot. Or at least she would if people made the effort to talk to her instead of going for insta-murder. Honestly? She's surprised she's gotten this far. She'll count that as a win. ]

Allfield, for now. [ Beau can probably guess by her tone, and the general knowledge of Drow that she doesn't tend to stay in one place for long, as much as she would like to. ] You are not wrong; most of my kind are not fond of the surface. Let us just say that I am an outlier, and I seek knowledge of this world so that I may learn to live in it. Allfield may not have much, but I am certain it has something. [ She shrugs, looking to Beau with an almost sad expression. ]

Do you accept my offer, or shall I find another?

I'm familiar with the DA universe, so I'm good with either doing a Overwatch-universe or DA-universe thread. There's always also modern AU for DA stuff. So many choices! Do you have any preferences for the setting? ]

(Oh wow in terms of preference i could go anyway but maybe a combo of 2? Modern DA AU set within overwatch. The inquisitors powers are like some kind of science experiment gone wrongto do with tears that lead to somee alternate dimension where cthuluian horrors live and theyve popped up in places where lavellan can then seal. And hand wave the experiment gave him pointy ears cause science. Does that sound good or would you prefer some alterations)
