You're getting out of here.
It's a thought he's had in his lifetime more than he'd like to count. But it had always proven true. Imprisoned, institutionalized, and now stranded, it was the thing that motivated him to keep pushing on, day after day. The fact that he was starting to grow used to life in Fae did not mean he planned on settling for living here the rest of his life.
Everything -- construction of shelter, gathering food and water, marking out landmarks and testing the boundaries of this little scrap of land -- was geared towards that one inevitable goal. He would make it back to where he'd come from. But then what?
He wasn't alone anymore, after all. In this bizarre pocket of existence he'd met Airy, who despite his every effort had managed to become familiar. Friendly. Though experience had taught him to keep people at arm's length something in him craved being able to trust someone again, and eventually she'd worn down the guards he thought he'd keep up until the day he died. He found himself smiling a little more easily in her presence, grateful that he wasn't here alone with only the vast landscape and his deteriorating mental state.
So say he made it out of here. What became of her?

[ The past several months have been…strange and incredible. Strange, as he slowly grew accustomed to his new relationship with the swordsman, their new dynamic – still fighting, still teasing, but underneath it remained the tenderness that started that night in the crow’s nest when he held Zoro’s face in his hands and confessed the feelings that were starting to literally choke him. Shitty hanahaki. ( Though he can’t complain too much about that flower disease now, can he? Getting used to their absence has been a big change as well, but thank god. ) Strange, too, as the rest of the crew also grew accustomed to the sudden shift. At first, he thought he would absolutely die when they all found out, especially the ladies! But fortunately it wasn’t nearly so dramatic. Just a little weird in the beginning, just different, but –
Incredible. What he has with Zoro now is fucking incredible. Like the tenderness, the honesty of that night has stuck and they speak openly when they’re alone together, no longer stifled by fear though Sanji still has his moments. Still feels some internal resistance but shit, he’s broken down so much of it. So despite the nerves, the issues he still has to fight, he’s so damn happy. Even something as simple as seeing Zoro smile at him from across the deck or the dinner table is enough to fill him with a bright giddiness.
And simple is…where things have stayed between them.
They spend a lot of time just being together, Zoro napping in the galley and Sanji planning meals while the swordsman works out. They’ll sit close, they’ll enjoy casual touches – a hand on a shoulder, knees bumping, fingers linked – and they’ll even climb into one another’s bunk on occasion. But it took over a week for Sanji to properly kiss the other man without startling, so when it comes to physical intimacy, they haven’t ventured very far beyond that. Zoro has been so patient, never pushing, letting Sanji take the pace that's comfortable for him, and that alone has likely played a large part in getting the cook to this point. The point of thinking he may be ready for a little bit more.
Why it's so much easier to speak the words I love you than to kiss the swordsman with tongue, is beyond him, but lately, once he gets into it, he's finding it increasingly harder to stop when their leisurely gentle kisses turn feverish. When he feels that flicker low in his gut that means he's getting turned on. He's finally allowed himself to fantasize; by the end of their first month, he was jerking off in the shower while thinking about the other man. He knows now, without a doubt, that alongside loving Zoro, he definitely does desire him. And the knowledge that he can actually do something with that desire other than just fantasize, even if the thought of it turns him a hundred different shades of red from head to toe, has become too great to ignore. ]
Oi, marimo. [ His eyes don't leave the plate in his sudsy hands as he scrubs it clean of breakfast's sticky, syrupy remnants before passing it over to the swordsman for drying. His voice is low even though they're alone in the galley, and miraculously steady as he makes the suggestion that his pulse already beginning to race. ] When we dock today, I was thinking we could find our own separate inn. Just for us.

No matter how many times she tries to remind herself that everything between them is just pretend, Peter says or does something that makes her question.
After hearing Peter sound so desperate on the bleachers with Gen, Lara Jean was ready to walk away from this--before she could let it hurt her. But Peter had disarmed her, like always, and now she was waking up nestled under Peter's arm, her cheek pillowed on his shoulder.
In her post-nap haze, it was harder still to be mad at him. She turned her eyes up to his face, handsome even with his beautiful eyes closed, and pulled her hand away from the center of his chest self consciously, pressing it to her side between them instead. She'd never done this before, but in her sleep she'd held Peter close like it was the most natural thing in the world.]
