1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

[ Midorima Shintarou is the type of person who is extremely careful to avoid injury. He always wraps his fingers, he always wears safety goggles in chemistry class, and he'll obey the word of Oha Asa if it says his luck is bad enough that it's going to be a problem that day. (The last one probably more than any human should listen to an adorable psychic rabbit- but Midorima knows better than to judge a rabbit by its chipper 'u' smile.) Today, Cancer was ranked in 10th and the lucky item was a problematic item at best: soft-serve ice cream. Try as he might, ice cream will melt and attract bugs and the instructor is having none of it. Attempts to procure a soft-serve ice cream machine were not fruitful (and even if he had asked Takao to bring the rearcar, it likely would've been too much undistributed weight for the thing to handle). Midorima had settled for a likeness of it, a small ice cream-shaped keychain. It was decidedly not as effective as the real thing.

But Midorima was the type of man who did everything he could to succeed, and they had a practice game later that day. He made a point to take off during lunch to go get some soft-serve ice cream, thinking that the effort to do so would outweigh the risk of going out without a proper lucky item. He probably should've brought Takao with him as a meat shield- okay, Midorima didn't want that either, but at least a second pair of eyes to warn him of the rather sudden skateboard barreling at his ankle on his way back onto campus hard enough to bruise it pretty badly (and make him drop the rather ridiculous ice chest filled with ice packs and cups of soft serve ice cream).

It wasn't something that would cause permanent damage, but it was enough that Midorima's ankle was swelling up substantially and he had a minor limp as he made his way back to class. By the time he gets there though, he's decided he actually needs to go to the nurse's office. The teacher apparently degrees, and as if the world knows that if it's Midorima, Takao is the one who should be handling him. So Takao is getting called out into the hallway by the teacher to take him to the nurse's office, despite the reluctance to give Takao an excuse to miss class.

The look Midorima gives him is nothing short of stubborn when he comes out, but he is leaning against the wall right now to try to keep weight off of his swollen ankle. ]

I could have made it to the nurse's office on my own.

[ Though honestly, if he has to have someone to lean on, he'd rather it weren't anyone else. ]

[ Where Midorima would credit his luck to Oha Asa, Takao would prefer to credit most of the trouble he has to deal with to it instead. He's spent more than enough time helping his teammate tote ridiculous things around, either by hand or by cart. The only plus he might be willing to give to the stupid rabbit is that his legs are considerably stronger after needing to drag Midorima around with statues and obscene amounts of fruit and so many other things that get them strange looks. It's reached a point where he pays attention to the announcement as well, if only to have some idea of whether he'll receive a message or what he might be in store for during the day.

Soft-serve ice cream doesn't bode well, but he's pleasantly surprised to see the keychain when he sees Midorima in the morning. It mistakenly leaves him thinking the day will be a normal one, going about his usual tasks -- attending class, attempting to nap through them without being spotted, being scolded when he's inevitably caught -- without worry of what he might have to deal with in the evening.

So it's unfortunate when he's called out of class after lunch so he can take Midorima to the nurse's office. As much as he's usually the type to celebrate any reason to get out of class, this might be one of the few he's not happy to hear.

The teacher instructs them to go ahead and then leaves them alone, obviously not too worried when Midorima is one of the people they're leaving behind. Takao approaches him, glancing down at his ankle and moving to his side, offering an arm to hook around his back and his shoulders for Midorima to lean on. ]

He's all but practically sulked his way back inside, limping more profoundly than usual. He's hoping that Mary's keen eye won't catch on.

John's realistic enough to know he won't be so lucky, but he'll try anyway. ]

[ Alice isn't usually one to give beginner cooking lessons to someone. She's got much more important things to focus on, and they don't involve babysitting someone around the basics! Besides, conventional cooking is so... boring.

But she likes Bolin, and she especially likes his enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Oh, and the fact that he takes her orders without question helps, too.
