THE LOVE CONFESSIONS MEME

Confessions of feelings are rarely as nice and romantic as they seem in the Hollywood flicks. Sometimes, they're screamed across an empty house as someone leaves. Others, they whispered across white pillow cases as bodies lie close together in the dark. Of course, these feelings may not be returned, but it may be the only shot you have.

If you even meant to spill, anyway.

How to Play
- Comment with your character, putting your information and preferences somewhere in the comment.
- Comment to other characters. Roll the RNG to get your prompt, or pick one.
- Play out the scene and take it whatever direction you'd like.
- Be cute and fun or sad and depressing.

Prompts

1. Planned: You've been planning to tell this person how you feel, and you know exactly the way to do it.

2. Spontaneous: Uh-oh, it just slipped out! Maybe you weren't thinking, maybe it was a fight, but somehow, your secret's out.

3. Heat of the Moment: What's better than calling someone's name out in the trows of passion? Why, telling them you love them, of course!

4. The Last Time: You're coming clean with your feelings because you're dying, moving away, leaving the planet, going to war, whatever. Might as well when you'll probably never see them again.

5. Jealousy: You've seen the one you love in the arms of another, and you just have to let your feelings be known so they don't end up with the wrong person! Selfish, what's selfish?

6. Drunk: A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts, so maybe you should be careful what you say, or you'll be telling your best friend you have the hots for her. Awkward.

7. Lie: You don't actually have feelings for this person, but you need them to believe that you do in order to use them, get something, or perhaps to not hurt their feelings.

8. Sweet: You confess...and they feel the same, and have wanted to say it for a while. Oh, how cute! Go on and enjoy your cute little romance.

9. One-sided: One of you confessed, but it's completely unrequited. Can you still be friends, or is that too painful?

10. Forbidden: Your love for this person is totally uncool - not allowed, even. But it has to be brought to light, preferably by you.

11. Unfulfilled: While you both love each other, you decided mutually that this can't go any further.

[ Slight pref for Logan confessing, but I don't mind him being confessed to (even if he'll probably be incredibly dense). Confessions of platonic/familial love are also awesome especially in found family scenarios. For crosscanon and OCs, let's talk about the relationship your char might have with Logan for it to work! Also: slowposting. ]

[ THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LATE, I'M SO SORRY. If you're still interested, I do like the idea of Logan not really being enough of a ~Lawful Good to want to stop Harley from being a criminal, so long as she isn't going around on murder sprees, right? I REMEMBER WE HAD A THREAD WHERE HE PATCHED HER UP and I liked that dumb dynamic, where he can't support her in what she does but he can definitely take care of her after. :x

Also I dunno, it'd be funny if he was once used by the Joker as Weapon X and maybe she broke him out because THAT GUY ALMOST PURPOSELY HAD HER KILLED IN HIS PLOTS, COME ON and so Logan's free but he's got that ~attachment, hence him picking her up from scrapes and making sure she's OK. :| I sort of imagine his confession not really being "I love you" as much as it is "I want you to stay/I'm glad you're here/okay/safe/etc." SO.

In my head I'm seeing it as Logan being the one to initiate inviting Harley over and then being like "yeah, I want you" and it's a HUGE DEAL BECAUSE HE DOESN'T JOKE ABOUT THIS SORT OF STUFF.............. and all that. <<

Maybe Joker used Logan as Weapon X and Harley got him out because screwing up the big plans is kind of her shtick, and he could never be quite sure if she did it accidentally or on purpose.

Over her canon history, Harley has been heading more towards Chaotic Neutral/Good with a few stumbling blocks, because crime is super fun for her, but at least she ... almost tries. Maybe we can attribute some of that to his influence?

There are also some instances in canon where Harley's enhanced strength/stamina/athleticism includes a healing factor -- not as big time as Logan's, but she can recover from a bullet wound over a few hours. I don't usually play with that in mind because other canon contradicts it, but we can bring that in here to put them on slightly more equal footing. How does that sound? ]

But yeah, Logan being a good influence works! I'm also down for that backstory of how she rescued him, LMAO. Harley why are you so cute and accidentally a good egg. I feel at this point he's just come to accept that it doesn't matter if she meant it or not, because either way he's attached...

I'm down with Harley's enhanced physicality being a thing, too! I'm so not caught up with DC comics I wouldn't know what contradicts what any more, anyway. Pffft.

My idea of a starter is that they'll already be at Logan's place? It can be that Harley just swung by as she does or it can be the aftermath of something else, whichever sounds better for you! I'll set us up if there's nothing else you want to clarify. :x ]

[Eleven has no choice. She has to do it. The Mind Flayer has almost driven its smokey tentacles through a fresh portal and into their world. There is nothing Kali can do to help, and there's no time to convince the government what is happening is actually the truth, assuming there's anything they can do to begin with. The portal must be closed—for good this time. As much as she's dreading it, it's up to her to use her powers to close it.

Luckily for them and the entire town, the portal has begun opening around the quarry and not near the more suburban area of Hawkins. Nearly everyone is none the wiser. She hopes it stays that way until she can finish her task. It's just her and her band of teenagers and parents. Funny how it's always the eleven of them.

Her heart feels like it's ready to burst out of her chest, but the nervousness isn't from self-preservation—it's from hope that no one else will be hurt in the process. She cares about everyone with her now, everyone in the Byers' house presently. It's become their headquarters yet again. The plan is for Hopper to drive her to the quarry and for her to do her best while the rest of them stay far away and safe. Dustin's explained to her that this feeling is called "déjà vu".

She's said her goodbyes... no, her "see you laters"... to her friends now. Yes, even Max, who she's grown to know and appreciate. She's saved Mike for last. Saying goodbye to him will be hard. She takes a deep breath and approaches him where he stands across the living room. She can feel everyone's eyes on her but isn't sure what to do about it. But they don't matter. Right now, Mike has to know she'll be thinking of him the whole time. She rubs the side of her arm shyly and looks up at him with compassion and determination.]

Mike...

[The words won't come out. Everything she wants to say, everything she's planned... it's all stuck in her throat. All she can do is wait and see what he has to say to her first.]

[ Déjà vu indeed. And Mike hates it. He hates that there's so many people in the dark as to what's going on, leaving the usual group of people to figure out what's going on and suffer in the process. He hates that it's always left to El to save the day. Why can't it be someone else? Someone who doesn't mean as much to Mike as Eleven? She's promised him before that he won't lose her, but that doesn't mean there's no risk that could happen. As long as she has abilities, there's always a risk he'll lose her.

(He's never told Eleven that sometimes he wishes her abilities could be taken from her so she can live a normal life. And he hates himself for thinking that because they're a part of her, and he wouldn't change a thing about her. But there are moments he wonders what their lives would be like if no one needed El for her powers and they were left alone.)

The rest of the group are trying not to look at them, he can tell, and failing miserably. They could do without the audience. ]

Let's go in the other room. [ He doesn't give El much of a choice, reaching for her hand and pulling her into Will's bedroom. He closes the door behind them, then let's go of El's hand to pace the room back and forth. It's what he always does when he's nervous and stressed.

He should be saying goodbye - no, see you later to Eleven, but he's almost avoiding it in favor of pacing. This clearly isn't a conversation Mike wants to have. He's scared. ]

[Eleven allows him to guide her to privacy, glad that he has the sense to do it when she doesn't. His pacing is in turn making her more anxious. She has to say what's on her mind, or some variation of it, at least. It would calm them both down a little, she presumes. What did she say last time that made them feel a little better?

Well, it isn't much, but she thinks it's a good start nonetheless.]

I'll be careful.

[What is it with the two of them and rain? Rain always seems to come and ruin their plans. Well, meeting Mike in the rain long ago wasn't a plan, but still, cold rain is unpleasant. And now they've been caught in a downpour running with only their sweatshirts as shields against the water pelting their faces. That'll teach them to go for a romantic walk when it's cloudy.

There are no buildings nearby to hide under as they run to Hopper's cabin. Only some scattered trees temporarily shield them with their leafless branches. At least Hopper isn't around to catch them in their frightful states. He's gone to Indianapolis on some police conference. Or something. He didn't give her many details, and the ones he did give her didn't make any sense to her. So she's shrugged it off and enjoyed her time alone. Granted, her alone time isn't so much "alone time" as it is chances to spend time with Mike in the privacy of an empty house.

She uses her powers to unlock the front door as they approach it so they can immediately run in without fiddling with the locks. Before she enters, she throws her soaking wet sweatshirt on the porch. There's no point in bringing it inside if it's just going to drip everywhere. Once the two of them have scrambled inside and she's shut the door behind them, she looks at Mike, drenched to the bone, and looking adorably disheveled. She can't help but stop and giggle through her heavy panting.]

We made it.

[ Rain or shine, Mike likes being with Eleven. Sure, the rain likes to sabotage them sometimes (or try to), but it never really ruins their plans, only changes them.

Mike follows suit by dropping his sweatshirt alongside Eleven's on the porch, following her inside. He found the cabin a little... unhomely, at first. Didn't cabins in the woods belong in horror movies? But then Mike helped her decorate the place more, particularly her bedroom, giving her things to make the room more personal to her, toys when they were younger, books, posters to cover the walls. He hoped it reminded her less of a prison and more of an actual home.

The sound of thunder surprises him and he glances towards the nearest window where he sees lightning flash amongst the rain. ] Just in time from the looks of it. Hope we don't get a--

[ And the lights that Eleven switched on suddenly go off. It must be a power cut. ]

Sorry, I think I jinxed it. [ It's light enough that he can just about see Eleven, but it'll be getting darker soon. ] You got any candles?
