Incest is, despite its taboo nature in most societies, actually a pretty popular convention in both romantic fiction and works of a more erotic bent, in everything from period or fantasy pieces to series taking place in places like modern day Japan. Still, the most common configuration in these fictions are the pairing of siblings. Perhaps this is because of the usual lack of age difference and power dynamic that exists in child/adult relative pairings, though this is not always the case. Because of this, a sexual or romantic relationship between siblings can almost seem, well, romantic in the right light. Of course, more often than not, there's a dark side under the veneer of forbidden love.

This meme is for those who would like to play out that, either the darkness or the light - or both.

2. Not as Normal Families: Whatever the specifics of the case may be, your childhood was not the norm, and thus the two of you have grown close that way.
3. Raised Apart: Scientists believe that when siblings are raised together under normal circumstances, they will not find each other sexually attractive; however, if they are reared apart, they may be highly attracted to each other when they meet as adults.
4. Only Kin by Name: Psuedo-incest between step siblings or adopted siblings is not quite as taboo, but you could still be looked down upon for harboring those desires for someone who is a member of your family by one way or another.
5. Defender: One of you is older and has always looked after the other, meaning that something has grown between you that is thicker than any blood.

[ You heard right. :D And I like it. Perhaps she helped to keep Snoke off his tail, and in turn their meetings have helped keep the light alive in her? With siblings she tends to be fiercely protective so she definitely would have sacrificed herself if it meant keeping Snoke away from Ben.

Do we want to go pre-TFA, or just AU the films so Han doesn't die?

Orrrr for max drama, kind of merge TFA and TLJ like so: the conversation on Starkiller happens and she nearly agrees to leave but something interrupts (explosives go off early, stormtroopers get trigger-happy, idk) and/or she realizes that leaving won't keep herself or Ben safe so long as Snoke is alive. Starkiller goes boom, she goes to the Supremacy less with the intent to follow orders as the intent to end things once and for all. She manages to kill Snoke (possibly with a long-distance assist from Ben, wonder twin powers activate and all that, lol) and slay the guards but doesn't come out unscathed. Wreaks havoc on her way out and flees in her ship. And then Ben gets to her before the First Order does? ]

[Ohh-hoho, I like this idea. Han still alive due to a narrow escape, as is his habit, Rey still off to train with Luke wherever he is and Ben Force-Skyping in to help Kylo deal with Snoke and the guards. Which means she'd be knocked around and he'd be exhausted when he did find her.

Ben hadn't been on the Falcon when it had gone to Starkiller with the recently-former Stormtrooper and a half-baked plan on how to help the Resistance fleet take the thing down. He hadn't even been on the Falcon when it had returned to D'qar, he'd stayed on Takodana to help with the rebuilding, knowing full well that he'd have to light off at a moment's notice and Maz knew it too, almost before he did which was something that had bothered him once, but not as much anymore.

Despite being physically on Takodana, he was still there on the maintenance walkway in the station. A full-on doppelganger was beyond his abilities, but he knew Kylo would be able to see him all the same, though it was likely that Han wouldn't. The conversation hadn't gone the way Han had expected, but hadn't gone as badly as Ben knew it could have, he'd known what Kylo was supposed to do and was intensely relieved that she hadn't been able to.

The fight that followed however, that was worse, mostly due to the fact that it was far more draining on her than it should have been, and in turn more draining on him, because the best he could do was lend her strength. He knew the assist wasn't the only reason she'd survived it, but nearly so. Snoke had wanted them both, he just hadn't expected that Ben watching through Kylo's eyes as he rammed a saber through the chest was how he'd get them.

It was only when she'd made good on her escape and had made the first jump to hyperspace that he drew back to himself with the promise that he'd find her as soon as he was able. It was only once he was fully back in his own body that he realized he was sporting bruises from the fight as well. Wound-transferrence was nothing new, but it was unexpected, and was going to slow him down. Luckily he'd had the presence of mind to already be in the pilot's seat of his shuttle before he'd projected himself, knowing he'd be tired from it if nothing else.

She had fantasized about it with increasing frequency over the years, killing Snoke. Ending the torment that had plagued herself and her brother from before they were born. It was the only way this path could end. The only way they could be free. Perhaps she didn't deserve it, after all she had done and been made to do, but her brother did. She just had to bide her time, wait for the right moment as she would only get one chance. If she failed and the attempt didn't kill her then she would wish it had.

Seeing her father, hearing those words, stirred the conflict within her. Pushed her to make a choice. And none of the choices available to her were easy. It was seeing Ben there that strengthened her resolve. If she were waiting for a sign the Force was giving her one.

And now... now she had stepped into the unknown, and there were no signs to guide her way.

Kylo watched the blur of stars streaking past and listened, hearing only silence. In comparison to all she's grown accustomed to over the years her mind was deathly quiet. No Snoke. No Ben. Merely herself, and the pain. She expected silence to feel peaceful but at the moment it only felt lonely. And cold.

She cursed under her breath and took a hand off the controls of her ship, pressing hard against a gash on her other arm that had nearly stopped bleeding. The wave of pain made her inhale sharply but it was what she needed. Adrenaline was fading and she would need something else to sustain her until she could safely rest.

After what she had done she knew the First Order would come after her, it was just a matter of whether General Hux hated her or the Resistance more as to what size of force was initially sent to chase her down. Kylo would have loved to kill him too but there simply wasn't time. Not if she wanted to leave the Supremacy alive. She couldn't lie, the thought to destroy as much of the Order as she could before they could kill her was a deeply tempting one, but her brother's presence had given her enough clarity of mind to recognize how foolish it was. Sitting alone in her fighter, she consoled herself with the knowledge that she could finish that task later. She knew too much about everything for them to keep her out if she truly wanted to infiltrate one of their ships.

In total she made three jumps, having to balance the need for distance with the limits of her fuel. Her physical limits she was trying to ignore, although she knew she could only get away with that for so long. Instinct told her there was safety in what she knew and so she targeted a system that was technically under First Order control but no longer housed their presence. It had purely been taken for resources, and once those resources were exhausted it bore no further importance or attention. Kylo knew that with complete certainty as one of her early missions for Snoke had been to 'close down' one of the mining facilities and the neighboring town.

She set down on the more hospitable of the planets, seeing no need to make it more difficult on herself when she didn't plan to be there long. If a quick escape were necessary, the next system over was inhabited and she could fuel up there if she couldn't scavenge supplies where she was. Kylo didn't bother looking for the remains of a village, instead landing with care near an abandoned outpost. As she had hoped, the emergency lockers were untouched and she ripped one open to get at the medical supplies. The pain had faded to a dull ache although she couldn't be certain whether it had actually lessened or she was simply losing awareness of it from having it present so long. Neither possibility set well with her. She needed to stay awake. She needed to wait for Ben.

Taking up in a corner where she could see the door, her head rested back against the wall as she closed her eyes, summoning what focus yet remained. Kylo couldn't feel her twin but she knew he was there, somewhere. She projected the location of the planet along their bond, hoping that he would hear it, and that once they were closer to each other he would be able to sense her. The precise coordinates were in her ship but that felt entirely too far to walk at the moment.

Kylo roused herself after drifting for a few minutes, growling with frustration, and busied herself with trying to tend to some of her wounds. Hurry, brother. I need you.
