The HOLY GRAIL WAR Meme

Seven Masters, magi of the present day. Seven Servants, heroes of days past.One Holy Grail, granting whomever claims it a wish. Only one team of Master and Servant may claim it.
Who will it be?
For those unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero, you can find a better explanation of the Holy Grail War here.

Instructions
1. Comment with your character. In the subject line, put that character's name, canon, and which role (Master, Servant, or either) you would like them to fulfill. Add other preferences if you would like. (NOTE: If your character can fill the role of Servant, I suggest you state which class(es) -- Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, or Berserker -- they fall into.)
2. Reply to others' comments. Pick your character's role (and the other character's if they list "Either" as their preference), then use the RNG to pick a scenario that fits the two characters' roles.
3. Enjoy! Though there might be triggers, depending on how the prompts are interpreted.


TWO MASTERS

1. Battle. Who says that Servants get to have all the fun? After all, most Masters try to kill each other, too. Whatever the circumstances, the two of you are locked in a fight. Neither of you are willing to use your Command Spells just yet, so no Servants here. Just two magi duking it out.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. Protection. Uh-oh! One of you has lost your Servant! Unfortunately, there's no way you'd get to the church safely on your own, so the other one will help you get there! Or maybe you don't trust the priest presiding over the Holy Grail War and are giving shelter to them yourself? Given their track record, no one would blame you.

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. You, Too? Surprise! You may have been friends before, but you've just discovered that you're both Masters! How will you handle this revelation?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!


MASTER AND SERVANT

1. Are You My Master? The summoning is complete. Whether intentional or not, catalyst or not, a magus has summoned a Servant. What kind of meeting was it? Was everything totally under control, or did a hitch occur? Or maybe it happened in the middle of a life-or-death situation!

2. Identity. Either the Servant has flat out told the Master their identity, or they unleashed their Noble Phantasm. Either way, the cat is out of the bag. How will the Master react, now that they know their Servant's name and legend? Will anything change between the two?

3. Battle Aftermath. A battle has just ended. Who participated? Are either of you hurt? Did the Master have to use a Command Spell? Any number of things could have happened here.

4. Discord. Uh-oh. It looks like the Master and the Servant don't get along. Here come the arguments! Don't do something stupid, like waste a Command Spell over a triviality...

5. Love. And then, there's the opposite. Sometimes Masters and Servants fall in love with each other. How will this affect things?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!


TWO SERVANTS

1. Battle. This is what usually happens when two Servants meet -- they duke it out. This probably says enough as it is.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. The Grail Dialogues. Maybe you're not interested in fighting just yet. Maybe you just want to sit down and talk with the other Servant. Find out what they want, what makes them tick. Get some wine while you're at it -- nothing like good wine to go with good talk!

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying...again. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in this War in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. Identity. Congratulations, you've just learned each other's identities! Will this change the situation, or will you press onward?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

[In a way, it'd been...reassuring and completely unexpected, all at once, to find that there really was something after. In a sense, at any rate? It's not really the conventional definition anyone had of it, after all, "heaven" or "the afterlife" or what have you. All those human theories. But it's something to take all the same, because it's still quite a lot more than he'd ever expected...and with all that in mind, it's not so bad, that there's still a job expected of him here--the knowledge of this comes implicitly, in the stretch of time spent lingering at the Throne. The summon that eventually arrives, calling him back--he finds that he implicitly knows what that means, too.

Though this is the first time, actually, and he's not so implicitly granted with knowledge of what to actually expect on arrival. --First impressions are important? He tries his best. Exhaling a sharp sigh that feels like a first breath in forever, as the mana pressure ruffling the air dies down and he draws upright in the center of the circle, standing at attention. Identify yourself, establish your presence, speak clearly when in the company of Command. Memories of formal protocol from another lifetime filter back in already, and he leaps into old and new habits alike.]

Berserker class! [Yes. So declares the Servant in the likeness of a boy, with a perfectly calm and polite clarity that does nothing to support this claim in the least. So it goes.] I'm here to help! I look forward to...

He pauses, and blinks, the gesture invisible behind the blindfold firmly in place over his eyes, but the sentiment is probably clear anyhow in the way he looks all around the room before finally refocusing on the only other person in here. ...He has to look down, just a little, to actually do it. Which is already a bit of a novelty in itself, since he's never exactly been the tallest person in a room, and...really, though. Really? This is...?

Behind them, she can hear a trail of distinct puffs of air, valiantly trying to keep up with his speed. Ancient hieroglyphics and carvings whirl past them in a blur as they charge down the dark corridor, racing ahead of the flying darts, the only thing illuminating the path ahead being the sparks thrown by the chariot as they barrel ahead into darkness.

She really hopes there isn't a sudden turn in this tomb. ]

He recognizes the scenery -- how could he not? It has been years since he has seen it, but he did spend a time actually participating in the Grail War that existed in this city. His steps continue slow, careful. It is like walking back into an old memory, but he does not know exactly where this memory starts.

For him, he recalls diligently performing his duties in secret. The Einzbern Master was both homunculus and Holy Grail. The rest becomes hazy to him due to not staying to the end. As a Demi-Servant, he can tell that there has been some meddling with this time period but cannot tell the extent of it. ]

Rather than one of their lost timelines ... this is a Singularity. It seems I have been pulled into a difficult situation that can only be settled by their involvement. So, there is no need to for me to do more than observe everything.

[ "Master Kirei." The hushed tone is enough for him to turn towards it more than the words. Ah, Presence Concealment. Even I was not able to detect it as a Demi-Servant. He pauses at the words as he recognizes Assassin's floating mask within the dark. ]

Yes? [ Is this not nostalgic? The Servant seems obviously confused what he is doing out; why he feels like a Servant; there are too many questions and he has no time to answer them all. It is best if he conceals himself as well and waits this matter to resolve itself so that he can continue with his goal -- but he pauses at Assassin asking if he's still looking for "Kiritsugu Emiya." ]

... who? [ "I" am looking for someone? That catches his attention more than anything. To use a Servant to seek a person out -- that means "he" is very interested. ] Yes, I am still looking for him. ... where might I find him?

[ Assassin gives his report, and his nostalgia continues as he walks down the streets of the city toward an old Japanese-styled house. His hand gently rests against the outer boundary and will barely any effort, he feels the barriers shatter under his palm. ]

Good evening, I am looking Kiritsugu Emiya. Might you know where I could find him? [ Who is the man who has caught "his" attention? ]

[For the most part, Therion's a pretty chill assassin. He might get snarky or standoffish sometimes, but usually he's agreeable and willing to go with the flow; he'd only really butt heads with his Master if she were to try and make him fight in any way that didn't involve sneaking and backstabbing, or if either ~friendship~ or ~trust~ are ever brought up since he's got issues with both.

But otherwise? Easygoing enough that the whole master-servant relationship should go fairly smoothly.

And right now, he's even managed to take advantage of Saber and Lancer having gone at it. Lancer retreated the moment they found themselves fighting a losing battle, but the moment they and their Master thought they were safe, Therion all but lunged from the shadows to stab them in the back; weakened as they were, it was more than enough to shatter their spiritual core and take them down. Score one for team non-direct confrontation!

...it's just that in order to get the drop on them, he'd gone on ahead and left his Master behind, since operating by himself was a lot more efficient. And once he's returned to her, he's carrying...something roughly human sized over his shoulder, with the dark of the night being the only reason it's hard to make out.]

Kinda unhinged Eater Arata. In this AU he's from an actual mage family and instead of being cyber cthulu, his arm is likely now inhabited by some kind of outer entity as part of ~Mage experiments~. Unfortunately he's unhinged in that he'll be driven by an insatiable hunger and may eat some of the enemy servants his servant fights. May also try to eat the grail. Claims he's testing out his newfound power but in actual fact he's just unable to contain his non-human halfs desire to just keep eating. Whoops!]
