[Parts of Gotham burn in the distance, while outside of the city limits lays The Joker. His hands are in a pair of bat-cuffs, his beady black eyes staring up at the night sky. He's bruised, beaten, but plenty happy to have thrown a wrench in Batman's evening of whatever else he would've had planned. The madman giggles softly, knowing that him/he and The Bat had themselves a good ole fashioned, knockdown-and-drag-out fight.

[ He hadn't meant to find Allura when he stepped out that evening to take a breather, but there she was, head craned back looking up. His eyes glance up a moment, not sure what was going on, not spotting it immediately from the entrance of the castle. Is she stargazing? Maybe something's happening tonight he doesn't know about? The universe was crazy and, well, he could have as much training as he wanted at the garrison, it definitely didn't prepare him for even a tenth of the many miracles of the universe. It's hard to keep track of it all!

He's a little nervous about approaching her, but he wants to know what his friend is up to and, well, he'd never want to turn away spending time with her. After a little waffling, he approaches, hand shoved deep into his pockets. His voice is soft to match the quiet evening. ] Hey, princess. Checkin' something out?

[ Fort James feels quiet. The rowdiest men of the ale house have long since drunk themselves into a stupor, and Mary's done the lion's share of the cleaning, so Grace has already sent her girls to bed. She knows the rounds of the watch by heart, and so she's not the least bit concerned about finding herself disturbed as she steps out the back door of her establishment (since the front is locked, as it should be).

Despite the late hour, the moon is impossibly bright overhead, and her way past the more populous streets is well lit. With her coat wound around her shoulders, she tucks her hands under her arms, keeping her eyes open and her senses keen. She's not fool enough to think she's safe breaking away from the Fort proper, but a little danger is hardly enough to cow a woman like Grace Emberly into keeping to her tidy bed.

Because tonight, she's looking for a specific company – the kind not wont to be welcome within sight of the HBC and its loyal men.

She doesn't dare call out, but she's watching, waiting as clouds of foggy breath float away from her lips.

Of course, the longer he keeps her waiting, the more likely he is to get an earful when he does make an appearance. ]
