The Animal Nature Meme



In this meme, someone has been involved in some kind of an animal transformation, either completely or partially. This can range from a character being forced to wear plush ears and a tail to a twisted science experiment to lycanthropy or any other option in between, temporary or permanent, played for crack or for drama.

The transformed character might have been forced into it, did it voluntarily, or were brainwashed into enjoying every minute of it. The "animal" nature might affect them at different levels as well, where one person might be completely unchanged mentally, a human stuck in the wrong shape, while another completely loses themselves in whatever they've become, being entirely taken over by base animal instincts.

Is this a prank? A dare? Did someone lose a bet? Did you get on the wrong side of a mad scientist? Is the other person a friend? Your new owner? Your worst enemy gloating over your plight? Pick an option or make up your own, and let the fur fly.

[She'd almost forgotten about the party and the required costume, so Shirley had ended up buying one at the first shop she had seen. It was cute enough, with puppy ears, tail, and little paw mittens and boots. Milly had proclaimed her "adorable" and at one point during the party had mischievously added a collar, saying that she wouldn't want anyone to mistake her for a stray.

Once the party was over, though, Shirley had discovered a serious problem-- the costume wouldn't come off. It was as though the ears and tail had become stuck, somehow, and she couldn't remove the paw mittens, which meant she couldn't get a good grip to try to pull them off. With growing panic she slipped away, intending to head back to the shop where she'd purchased the costume, to find out what was wrong, hoping that no one would notice.

And, as well, hoping that she was only imagining the way the tail had started to wag...or the odd impulses she kept getting to stop and sniff things.]

[Trying to explain all of this to Banner really isn't difficult or time consuming. Tony just has to point to the wash of electronics cascading from the ceiling onto a collection plate. He'd been doing an analysis of metal much like vibranium with an iron alloy. Obviously, it didn't work.]

[They'd encountered a strange Shadow the night before while searching the TV world, one none of them had ever seen before, and one which had been particularly difficult to fight because of its abilities. Just before the final blow had been struck it had thrown some kind of attack at Yukiko, knocking her down but apparently doing no damage-- she'd been puzzled, but thought nothing of it once the battle was over. After returning home, though, she'd had strange dreams and woke feeling as though she hadn't slept at all. Her mother had fussed over her at breakfast, saying that she looked ill, but Yukiko had smiled and insisted she was fine, even though she wasn't certain of the fact herself.

That certainty had faded quickly during the morning classes. She felt ill, wrong in a way she couldn't define, itchy and aching all over as though she were coming down with the flu. The pain only grew worse and, at lunch, she excused herself to the restroom, telling her friends that she'd meet them in a few minutes. Once in the bathroom stall, however, she was shocked to discover that she was sprouting what looked suspiciously like fur under her uniform, and that twinge at the base of her spine came from what could only be the beginnings of a tail. And perhaps it was only her imagination, but now that she was looking at it the changes seemed to be coming faster still.

Trying to damp down her panic, she slipped out of the restroom, hoping no one would stop her before she found one of her friends. Hopefully one of them would be able to help-- or would at least be able to help her get out of the school before things got worse and someone saw her changing into, well, whatever she was changing into.]

Sure, Dick, Zatanna, and Hermione had each been trying to track down a cure for several weeks now, but it wasn't as if they could look up "Cure for skin-walker curse" on Wikipedia. (The closest they could find was shooting the skin-walker with a bullet coated in white ash, which was definitely not an option).

Alright though I'm unfamiliar with the story save what I read on his AU stuff or how it affects Roy.

He paced the room restlessly, more like a caged animal than a human. The feral instincts of the skin-walker simmered under the surface, making the already hot-blooded red head even more unstable. They'd had to drag Roy off of that weasel faced Malfoy before the teachers could discover him beating the snot out of the bastard. Now Roy was stuck under house arrest and it wasn't sitting well with him as could be expected.

[Ever since the change happened, Kariya's found himself roaming more and more.

It's not just that the other kids at Sun Garden still stare at his feline ears and claws or pull at his tail. Being out on the prowl just feels right. It puts his animal side at ease. So, he starts coming late to classes to skulk around parts of Raimon Town he hasn't seen before or to curl up in the team's club room and nap off the night's adventures. He stops coming home in the evenings, after showing up to practice with his clothes mussed from stalking the local wildlife. His scent turns more earthy and wild than human, along with his attitude.

And, occasionally, when his energy runs out closer to someone else's bed than his own, he ends up on a teammate's - or a complete stranger's - doorstep, hungry and scuffed and meowling shamelessly.]

[Still half fuzzy poodle, still not entirely okay with it. There are some things dogs do that he just won't. No marking his territory, for example. Or chasing cats up trees (unless it's Kariya).

But otherwise, he lets his dog half have free reign - otherwise, the feelings just build up and frustrate him. Which means yes - a lot of his teammates get dog kisses and him leaning against them for pets.
Not as much as Kirino or Sangoku get, hoever.]

[And somehow, he has a way of ending up at Kirino's house more often. Not that the defender complains at all (he finds it rather cute, actually). So, he's currently lounging on the couch and finishing up a homework assignment or two while Shindou's got free reign of the house.]

Though, he does find himself under Kirino's table and curled up on his feet from time to time when he needs a break from wrecking everything.
