Liam was glad to be at this party in the large house, some "Xmas in July" type theme, though it was probably also technically a Pack party (with some other people, possible acquaintances, etc). He thought it was nice to have some fun for one night, just one evening or two that didn't involve running, hiding, or fighting. Though.. speaking of that, he did have some useful information to pass on. He had currently finished a couple snacks and a drink and was heading over to get more.

As he walked, he had passed by Stiles and then stopped. Whether he stopped on his own or magic, hadn't entered his mind yet. "Oh Stiles, hey," he said in friendly greeting, smiling briefly. "Just called Scott and he said he'll be here in a few minutes. Having fun?" He sniffed. "Oh nice, more cookies," he added, about to step away from him just a second to go get more.

Except he found he couldn't move. Just a few inches away, a half foot length at the most. "What the-" He tried moving again, but couldn't. He could, but just a little. He looked at him, and around, eyes soon wondering upward above them. "Seriously, I don't know what... ohhh. Magically enchanted mistletoe? Well now, that's interesting. I'm guessing you can't move either?"

[ Sophie has, for the better part of her life thus far, been a most excellent wallflower. She's clever beyond measure and perhaps more stubborn than is necessarily healthy. All combined, it makes for a rather quiet social life. But then, younger sisters are notorious for shuffling the deck and changing things up, whether Sophie likes it or not.

As it is, Martha and Lettie have convinced Sophie to attend the holiday party with them. Of course, soon after arriving, they promptly abandoned her for their beaus. Sophie mutters to herself about the wavering fancy of sisters. She makes her way across the room, eyes focused on the exit; so focused, in fact, that she doesn't notice Remus crossing her path and promptly collides with him.

She gasps, and stumbles back a step. Her cheeks turn warm shade of red, clashing with her coppery curls. ]

I'm so sorry! Are you alright?

[ She's so busy fretting about her mistake, that she doesn't even notice the mistletoe hovering above their heads. ]

[ It's one of those fancy, Christmas fundraiser parties that he often attends. Honestly it's one too many, if you ask Bruce. He's been schmoozing and faking interest while she covers a story. It's much sooner than later that he finds himself standing beside her. Above her is some well-placed mistletoe that he doesn't think she's seen yet. He's been hoping to get there before anyone else does.

Clearing his throat loudly, he looks up pointedly at the mistletoe. ]

( in all honesty -- in all very true, very real honesty -- gladio loves his job. yes, noct pisses him off more than he doesn't, and maybe years ago he hated the very idea of serving this brat. but, time changes a man. relationships grow and change. noct is something else to him now. they're something else to each other. but, all self actualization and enjoyment aside, there is one thing he really, really, really hates about being shield to the (future) king.

parties.

it's a broad term, too. parties, events, fundraisers. it's a wide umbrella and gladio doesn't really like them. at all. they're overflowing with asskissers from not only the crown city, but the far reaches of eos. everyone wants a piece of the royal family. gladio's been part of the upper echelon his entire life, but he doesn't really fit in (except for times when he doesn't realize his tastes run a little on the expensive side for clothes, shoes, cologne...but only sometimes!!) with the way they do things. the conversations he has to often listen to while standing stoic at noct's side are so insipid that he can feel his eyes rolling into the back of his head sometimes.

around the holidays it seems to get even worse. everyone trying to one up someone else for gifts and vacations. gladio doesn't have the stomach for it tonight. apparently, noct doesn't either -- but he rarely ever does -- and after the fifth time he's had to interrupt with some excuse to get noct out of a coma inducing conversation, gladio steers them the observatory. the glass dome ceiling allows the night sky to show all its glory, with the twinkling diamond stars stuck on a blanket of dark, dark blue. soft fairy lights decorate the rotunda, twined with evergreen sprigs and garland. between several columns are sprigs of mistletoe and gladio can't help but smirk a little when he spots it.

not that he ever needs an excuse to get his mouth on noct, he's going to take advantage of the opportunity when it's presented to him. so, he stops beneath one and grins as he crooks his finger to beckon noct over before pointing up -- just in case he doesn't see it. )
