In nature, animals can be territorial. This makes sense; it's a cutthroat world, and you have to keep what's yours just to survive. They keep a close watch on lands, food supplies, and even sometimes mates. Pet owners can tell you that this instinct doesn't just go away - try getting that chew toy from your poodle. But what about people? Aren't we just animals, too? But for us, possessiveness is not a good social trait to have. That's understandable. Nobody likes someone so hung up on owning things. Especially not owning their lovers, since you can't simply have another person like that.

Yet even the most benign, most monkish of souls have possessive streaks at some moments when it comes to the person they're sleeping with. It's only natural. Usually, it comes from jealousy. You like having what's yours (even if it's a cruel way to think about things, that's the reptile brain peeking through), and you'd want it to stay that way. That means you want to show up the competition and remind the object of your desires that you're the apple of their eye. Of course, possessiveness doesn't always come from jealousy. Some people are just very, very...how do we say it...protective of them and theirs. How can they help that they want to show that in intimate ways?

In relationships, possessiveness throughout isn't healthy; still, a little bit of it can be actually arousing, especially in the bedroom. Today, the hotel is awakening that side of characters: the part that wants to screw their partner mercilessly to show them that they are the ones to touch them, to love them, to fuck them.

But my character isn't the possessive type, you say? Really? Really? As we've mentioned before, even the most kindhearted types feel it every once and a while. This meme never mentioned that it had to be a HUGE show of possession. It can even be a playful attempt in order to get their partner going or try a new kink in bed. Or, you could say the "influences" made them do it.

After all, there's plenty of prompts here to influence you.

HOW TO PLAY
- Comment with your character and preferences. You also may want to include if your character is more or less likely to be the possessive or jealous party, but please note that all characters have the potential to be that in this meme. Otherwise, you'd get a lot of passive pillow queen characters to be fawned over so be mindful of that.

[Hank had been gradually settling into a sense of (still ugly-ass) fashion that wasn't just "what he rolled out of bed in," putting effort when he could into showering and actually combing his hair and beard. He buttoned up his shirts, and sometimes even tucked them in and paired them with a tie.

But most of the significant difference came from the fact that he no longer looked like he'd just woken up from a Depression Nap at all times, and the smell of booze was replaced (or covered) by a faint smell of cologne.

The new dispatcher had certainly taken notice of the Lieutenant's new lease on life, as well. She flirted with him constantly, although he responded to her advances with his usual gruffness, though it masked a genuine hurt. No one could actually flirt seriously with a fat, old, washed-up alcoholic, after all. Either she was just doing it to be nice, or she was just Like That, but either way he didn't give her the benefit of a response.

His own disbelief at the legitimacy of her attention meant that he also had no idea the effect it was having on his partner.]

[Connor had watched as his partner slowly started to come out of the drunken funk that he'd been living his life in since Cole. He watched and helped when the other man needed it, offering a shoulder on nights when the call of alcohol was almost too much. Making sure Hank ate something other than processed ground beef-ish patties.

He'd even commented that he rather liked the Lieutenant's new cologne.

Slowly, piece by piece and day by day, Hank started to resemble the man who was in the pictures in Fowler's office. And while Hank was reassembling himself, Connor was also learning what it was like to be a real person. The tactile upgrade had been a nice start, and after a few troubleshoots, it was almost like he'd never had a time when he couldn't feel stimulation against his skin. It stopped overwhelming him and he learned to focus on his work again instead of just the vast amounts of information being thrown at him. Scent and taste were also enhanced, though not to the same degree as his tactile sensors.

He discovered, with Hank's help, that he had a rather 'sweet tooth'. He liked the way the sugar crystals dissolved and the different ways the same thing could taste.

They learned together, and they grew.

So when the new dispatcher had started to come around their desk more often, completely ignoring Connor in favor of (literally) batting her eyes at Hank...well, it was irritating. And he didn't take too much effort to hide it, either. Just her appearance on the edge of Hank's desk could make Connor's LED flare a bright yellow and a hard line to appear on his lips.

Though....honestly? He didn't quite know why she bothered him so much.

Except that he didn't like the way she touched Hank. Or the way Hank didn't immediately reprimand her. Or the casual way she tried to slide between them, like Connor was just an obstacle in her way. The way she unbuttoned the top button of her uniform before coming over to their desks. Her overwhelming smell of vanilla perfume. Her...

....okay. So he was a little jealous.

His eyes narrowed as she leaned over, setting a fresh cup of plain, black coffee down on Hank's desk.]

Uh, thanks, Tina.

[He turned back to his computer, expecting her to go away, but she was persistent.

“Anything fun planned for the holiday, Hank?” she asked.]

[“Well, I can think of something fun you can do...” she walked her fingers across the top of his monitor, causing his scowl to deepen. He glanced across the desk at Connor.]

[Connor, who was all but outright glaring at the woman. He had been working before she'd showed up, going through all of their files to find the case that Hank had remembered from a few weeks back. It was similar and Connor had wanted to go over it himself to see if there were any discernible patterns.

Instead, he fixed a hard look in her direction and stood up. Rather..abruptly. His chair didn't topple or anything that dramatic, but it did roll backwards a fair bit more than usual.]

If you are trying to save him a trip to the break room by bringing him coffee, you should at least fix it the way he likes it.

[He was leaning over their desks as he said it, ignoring her indignant huff when he deftly picked up the cup she'd brought over. Honestly.]

I thought we were going to the street fair? You said I could try something called an 'elephant ear'?

[This had been mentioned once. Weeks ago. There had been no plans for this, Connor.

"Well, I'm grilling. Surely coming to my house would be more fun than that" He was halfway to the break room to fix Hank a real cup of coffee when her words came and he paused mid-step to glare at the floor.]

[ The little apartment is so very neat and tidy.

Norman sits on the edge of his bed, suit a bit rumpled and usually perfectly neat hair a mess as he stares into space. He'd just given into the need for Tripto, the overwhelming, painful and irresistible call of the drug leading him to give in yet again. His eyes are red-rimmed, fingers gripping the edge of the mattress in a tight grip.

The last thing Norman expects now is a visit from anyone. People don't visit him at his D.C. apartment. Ever. And thank God for that, or else they'd find him in this sorry state, and who knows how he'd react?

These highs don't usually last very long, just long enough to fuck things up if someone else happens to be around. That's why it's all the more simple to just... be alone. Work with who he has to work with during the day, and then huddle alone in his apartment in the evening and at night.

It's a sorry state, but what can he do? The addiction is too powerful, and he simply hasn't the strength to overcome it. Not now; maybe later. Of course, that's what he always says. ]

[The problem was, Norman wasn't alone anymore. About a week after the revolution, a certain prototype android had been moved from Detroit to Virginia, and he'd started down the road to the FBI. In the time since, Connor had worked his way through partners....until Norman.

He wasn't Hank, but for once, Connor wasn't trying to compare the two. They'd worked together since, Connor assigned as Norman's partner and surprising the hell out of everyone because they worked. The two office introverts had expanded their bubbles to include one another.

So, really, it wasn't that uncommon for Connor to show up at his partner's apartment, usually carrying a bag of food he wanted to try to cook. Today? Today was no different. He knocked primly on the door, then peeked into the oversized brown paper bag in his arms to make sure the eggs that were stacked on top hadn't toppled in transit.]

Norman, open up.

He'd completely forgotten that Connor liked to show up randomly like that. Until the Android showed up in D.C., nothing like that ever happened, and it was all too easy to leave the office by himself and not even consider the possible ramifications of being caught high like this.

He'd lose his job if Connor found out and told someone.

Trying to straighten himself up and rubbing his hands over his eyes, he walked slowly over to the door and opened it up cautiously. ]

Hey, Connor. What's up? [ He responded, eyes moving from the Android to the bag of groceries. There was something about how goddamn put together Connor was at a time like this that got to Norman in a way he didn't expect. Maybe it was his drugged up mind making him come to that conclusion, but he thought so nonetheless. ]

Now might not be the best time... [ But he opened the door a little for the Android anyway. Maybe he wouldn't notice anything wrong, by some miracle. ]

[Connor had known for a while that there was something...off with his partner, but he hadn't really tried very hard to pinpoint it. If he'd wanted to, he could have, but he didn't really want to.

"Well, everyone does what they have to, to get by. As long as they're not hurting anybody, I don't bother 'em."

Norman was a great agent with a heavy burden placed on him in those ARI glasses. As long as his work didn't slip and he didn't hurt anybody, Connor wasn't going to call him on anything.

The door opened and something twitched in the back of Connor's mind, but he ignored it and instead simply walked into the apartment and headed to the kitchen to put down the bag. He could carry it without problem, but that didn't make it not heavy.]

I don't have to stay if you're busy, Agent. I was under the impression we were going to 'hang out' tonight, so I acquired something I thought you might like for dinner. If you'd rather not, I can always see if Spencer is free to eat it.
