They had done it. John Watson and Molly Hooper had spent an entire quiet evening together, watching crap telly and drinking a little wine and chatting about a thousand little things and not even once mentioning the late great Sherlock Holmes.

It was only five days since the funeral and John had made no arrangements to move out of the Baker Street flat. He hadn't touched any of Sherlock's things despite the fact that they took up at least ninety percent of the available table and chair space. The sofa was clear, though, and that's what mattered the most.

John was grateful beyond what words could express that Molly was willing to come over and give him a little reprieve from the deafening silence, even though it couldn't have been easy for her either. And now he felt a little guilty. Molly had fallen fast asleep against his shoulder sometime during the last programme.

Instead of simply leaving her there, John finally decided she would be better off in a proper bed. His bed. No need to get riled up, John could sleep on the sofa! It was just too bad that with his bum shoulder he had no hope of carrying her up the stairs bodily without dropping her.

"Molly," he said, quietly, and started petting on her hair. "Molly?"

Work wasn't usually so exhausting, but mix in ten kids on a sugar high and a cartoon movie marathon at the theater and you wouldn't be feeling too awake either. Mary couldn't remember the last time she had felt so tired. The bus trip home seemed to be taking longer than it should have and all she wanted to do was close her eyes for five minutes. Just five minutes. What could it hurt.

Of course, five minutes turned into a full on nap with her tipping onto her side and practically curling into the lap of a stranger. She clutched her purse and jacket close to her chest like a child would a teddy bear, and if it hadn't been for the fact that she had a purse and rather adult sense of fashion (high heels were a dead give away if someone paid attention) she could easily be mistaken for a sleeping child.

[Badd hasn't slept in 36 hours. This is the first time he's even slowed down--nothing but running, dodging the authorities who'd gotten close enough to find out what he's doing but not close enough to get their hands on him.

If he stops moving they'll find him. He needs a quiet way off the planet but he's not got much money to do it with. Maybe he can get a loan...but just five minutes. He needs to sit down. They're watching the public transit so he's walked all the way here and his feet are screaming for mercy.

Badd's sitting on the bench, screen tilted towards him as he reads the daily news for any inconvenient articles. The words are starting to blur together and even as he scrolls he's barely noticing what the words say. Slowly his eyes slip closed and his body tilts to the side, until his massive bulk's leaning against the man next to him.]

[These two had a full day of doing... stuff. It was Madoka's birthday, after all! Sayaka had taken her around town, bought her a present (a cute, giant stuffed animal) led her back to her place so her parents could give her cake and ice cream and more presents. Then after they had stuffed themselves they'd somehow wound up taking another walk. Quiet, through the park, chatting about this and that. They'd sat down on a bench and... Sayaka had instantly conked out, her head on Madoka's lap.

She hadn't slept for like an entire day. She'd spent a lot of time working out what to do with Madoka, even trying and mostly failing to sew another stuffed animal for her. It was an attempt at a blue rabbit, but the stitching was pretty poorly done, and one of the button eyes seemed liable to fall off any moment. Sayaka had pricked her fingers a couple of times, too. She'd sat that little guy down underneath Madoka's pillow, for her to find once she actually went to bed. Mostly because... she was worried Madoka wouldn't like it.]

So, no, it wasn't being fallen asleep on, exactly, but it was every bit as surprising, to find out there was ever a time the Assassin let his guard down, when Axel came upon him in the garden.
