Jaime. [ Whispering outside of his window, Cassie looks around for signs of peering eyes. Coming to his home isn't the best idea, even in the middle of the night, and floating outside of his bedroom window is an even worse one, but she needs to be here. Otherwise she'd be at home, restless, and driving herself crazy. ]

Jaime! [ She says a little louder this time. Maybe he's hears her and is ignoring her. Cassie can't blame him. The one who broke it off was her, but not because she wanted to. Certainly not. It's why she's at his house after all, and now knocking on his window. Charles had been expecting Erik to leave (although he didn't know when). With the promise to stay out of Erik's mind, left Charles wondering when, and if he would return. The days had gotten quite busy, but Charles was managing. He would always find a way to manage if he needed to. The children listened to him, and had helped when he needed it. They took on roles like housekeeper, babysitter, cook. Whatever they could to help. Charles was proud of them.

So when Erik did return after some time, Charles was surprised. It felt awkward to have him back here. No matter how much Charles had wanted it, it left him thinking that at any moment, Erik could walk out that door again. He thought he should ask him to leave, after all. He didn't know if it would work, and the thought of having to deal with this frequently - or his children having to deal with it frequently.

Too much time thinking had kept him up at night. He wandered into his kitchen, and started to sort out a sandwich. It was late, but he didn't know that he would sleep.
